I've already seen enough from Moore to want him back next year competing for the backup position with a veteran. It's the same gut feeling I had with Romo early in his career. I was laughed at back then and I'm sure many will laugh at me know but I think the FO did outstanding bringing him in for a look and think he will eventually become the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys. He's got the Moxie.

Think more...

I like him but reality is this. One, he is small. That's something elite, Drew Brees-like talent overcomes. Tall order to overcome that. Second, and likely more problematic, he's a lefty. This league has seem very little success from lefty QBs. People will immediately bring to mind Steve Young to refute that. Now come up with another from the last 20 years. Mike Vick?

About 10% of people are left-handed. Every year 40+ guys start an NFL game at QB. How many are southpaws? Hint: often zero.

Offenses are complex and require precise throwing lanes. It is all written for right handers. You can't just make everyone flip sides and run it the other way.

Love the moxie, but hard to succeed with these two limitations

You answered your own question. If only 1 in 10 people are left handed it is well within the range of probability to not see a lefty qb make the NFL just by random chance.

What a weird thing to call a limitation.

And why would routes need to be flipped exactly?

Moore plays the game well enough to be given a chance to compete. I honestly think he is a great short term prospect.....the kind of QB that can play well for a couple weeks if needed. Folks have mentioned Colt McCoy as the kind of guy that would be a good backup. I don't think Moore is far off from that. No reason that Moore can't be a Ryan Fitzpatrick type. A smaller Qb with a mediocre arm that is having success. And Drew Brees really doesn't have much if anything athletically that Moore needs. We can nitpick but Moore deserves a chance.

Easy to say you had a gut feeling about Romo and were laughed at when you've only been a member on this board since 2013. You threw out a tidbit you can't prove. Not many here knee jerk and live in the moment like you do.

Bookmarking this post for future blackmail...

Just click on the threads he's started it's like a treasure chest of nightmares that have come back to haunt him. He has no Idea about QBs he has Romo ranked as the greatest QB in Cowboys history. Last Feb he started a thread ripping Jamis Winston claiming he will be a huge mistake for any team that drafts him.

Moore's performance tailed off as the game went on.

Not good for him - he doesn't have much margin of error for making it as an NFL QB.

To be fair, it is hard to judge any QB in this pathetic scheme that takes a superstar QB to run. Just look what Weeden did in only a few weeks of practice with the Texans.

Weeden's numbers today nothing extraordinary. 200 yds passing.

He's not even an NFL quality backup quarterback, no arm strength...

End to the moxie thread. I think we all know that at best moore will be a back up. In the worse case, hes done in the NFL

He's 3rd string QB at best. Rack up the losses, let him gain experience, and earn a high draft pick. Take a QB on day one and never look back...

Brees has a stronger arm, is built more compact and has better feet.
