The new game plan against us

Nonsense.

Dat pre-injury: 7, 8, 7, 3 the game he got hurt. 6.25 tackles per game.

Dat post-injury: 1, 4, 1, 0. Hmmm, just how valid is that total tackle comparison?

Shanle pre-Dat's injury: 2, 4, 4, 4. 3.5 tackles per game.

Shanle while Dat's out: 3, 2, 3. 2.7 per game. 6.25 versus 2.7, hmmm.

Shanle since Dat's return: 3, 3, 1. 2.3 tackles per game.

Too bad the stats don't add up for you.;)

so who is picking up all those tackles that Dat was making, it would be intresting to see whose tackles have increased the most since Dats injury. I think B James has been posting quite a few tackles since Dats injury.

But it seems the problem is on the outside runs more than the inside.

Here's what I know:

DEFENSIVE STATS IN GAMES DAT STARTED (SD, Wash, SD, Oak)

Average Net Yards Per Game: 340

Average Turnovers forced per game: 1.25

Average Sacks per game: 3.0

Average Points Allowed Per Game: 20.25

DEFENSIVE STATS IN GAMES SHANLE HAS STARTED (Philly x 2, NYG, Seattle, Arizona, Detroit)

Average Net Yards Per Game: 247.7

Average Turnovers forced per game: 1.7

Average Sacks per game: 2.5

Average Points Allowed Per Game: 11.00

terrible - lets go backwards and abandon a 3-4 that has us top 5 in defense. Shanle was missed last game. We have played very hot on D with Shanle in for Dat.

Glad BP is calling the shots!

EXACTLY - GOOD STAT DIG

Lets move on - Dat is gone and the younger backers have stepped up and will step up. I wish Dat the best.

That play. One play, second-and-three at the Broncos 39, a simple handoff to Dayne, who was heading right, but cut back to the left. The Cowboys were thinking run, having moved into their 4-3 front with Spears and Chris Canty at the ends, Glover and Jason Ferguson at the tackles and Scott Fujuta, Bradie James and DeMarcus Ware at the linebackers.

"Solid" is what the Cowboys call the alignment, yet they were anything but solid. First Ferguson missed the tackle at the line of scrimmage when the burly Dayne cut back into the hole. Then Roy Williams, up in the box, didn't take on the fullback, and instead of standing up to the block, he became no factor crumbling to the guy's feet, giving himself up. And coming up to save the day about that time, for what might have been a mere five-yard gain, safety Keith Davis whiffed.

Yep, and Quincy and T-Bone were why we went 10-6 in 2003.

Ya ever think that perhaps, just perhaps, that the rest of the team and all of the rookies started to get a better feel for what they were doing?;)

Our LBs have problems stringing out plays and filling gaps when they run side to side on us.

It the backside cut that seems to causing us an issue. I believe that is all understanding and execution.

Dat will definately be missed. I see a lot of TE 'go routes' against us and a lot of backs splitting out wide without a LB following them. It may neutralized Roy from being able to hang out around the line and open up the opponents run game.

Not against the Giants because I think they will put Newman on Shockey for most of the game if Henry is healthy (and hopefully he is or we are screwed).

Uh, they aren't going to put Newman on Shockey.

SD was just a well played game against a very good offense. Can't complain about keeping LT to 72 yards rushing especially with all the rookies in their first NFl game.

Deadskin was another very well played game by the defense until the Roy and Glenn fell asleep. More then half the yards and all 14 points occured within 4 minutes on the last two drives. Held Portis to 52 yards rushing

SF game the defense was just beat up during practice by Parcells. Henry had a really bad practice and Dat took the neck injury (related to being worn out, possibly).

Oak game Dat was injured from previous game. Jordan ran the ball well but . But we still held a dangerous Oakland team to only one TD.

How many tackles a team has is the most important stat. After all at the end of the season the team with the most tackles is declared the Superbowl victor!

What part of Dayne's run makes anyone think the linebacking was O.K. without Dat?
So we got to miss Dayne drag Dat for 40 yards, so what?

You have got to be kidding.

Dat was averaging 6.25 tackles before he got hurt.

Shanle is at 2.7.

Shanle had a terrible game against the Eagles, one of the worst games I've ever seen a LB play.

Newman was on Shockey like stink on stunk in most of the first game. The few plays he wasn't on him was when Shockey was effective.

Maybe in the slot on nickel etc, but for the most part, no.

Just how much 3-4 and how much 4-3 have we been running? I've seen a mix of both.

4-3onites unite - andd go away.

Yes - lets abandon the 3-4 NOW because an undersized ILB was blown up onto IR with injury.

Stop the madness. Defense has been playing great with Shanle in Dats absence.
