While I am interested in upgrading the WR corp, I ask myself this single question. Will OBJ help beat Philly or San Fran in the playoffs? If yes, sign him, period. I'm of the belief that Dallas' coaching staff has decided to try to OUTSCORE those teams rather than defend them. If defending those teams was the course of action, the next addition would have been another monster DT or LB. I think they are going to try to outscore those teams.

We don’t have a QB that can throw and out score other teams

We need a solid ground game and a defense that can limit the scoring of the other team. Our biggest liability has been inability to stop the run. Philly and SF will just dominate us

goal for every team is to outscore the other, no other way to win but finish 1 point better.:rolleyes:

we have strong run game and good D stop with the dramatics as if we won't be able to stop teams in the playoffs. sure OBJ a nice insurance policy, adds weapon but that not a PLAN , plan is always play great defense, run , and use a strong run game to open up the pass game.

We lost last year's playoff game because of 14 penalties.. that the long and short of it.,cant give team like that an advantage. we lost by 6 come on now...

I agree that the defense is the larger concern, but its about the talent that is available and as we missed the boat on Suh, I don't think there is any defensive talent out there worth signing.

Outscoring the other team is sound strategy. Works every time.

Hes visiting the Giants first for 2 days then he'll be in Dallas December 5th, then he'll be visiting the Bills.

Converting a third down in a crucial drive in the 4th qtr is defending, you don`t give the ball back to the other team, thats where a a talented vet comes in handy.

That has been the Cowboys operating standard for the last pass 16 years. They load up on the offensive side of the ball, so they can establish a lead, then let the pass rush kill a comeback. Hasn't exactly worked out the way they've wanted it too. But they still keep trying.

No Defenders age 30 or under available.

Are there any monster DTs or LBs sitting out there as free agents?

True, and when you get in Dec and Jan the weather can really play hell with the passing game and offense at times. Having to go to Philly or MIN for a playoff game there may be rough conditions. Have to have the D playing well and be able to at least limit the other teams running game then.

I would have been ok if they signed Suh. I always thought he would have helped with the run defense. Too bad that Philly got him. Sometimes our front office is slow to act on things that this team really needs.

Bizarre observation

What conditions would you be expecting in Minnesota? Did you notice the conditions in the last game we played there? I'll bet that we get the exact same conditions.

Suh not withstanding there aren't any monster DTs or LBs hanging out

That answer would be no. Really, the only good player that is out on the street is Beckham. He’s available, so the team is looking at possibly adding the only guy out there that might could make a difference.

If he doesn’t just want too much money, I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to add him.
