Anyone watch the Patriots, Broncos, Minnesota, Green Bay, Atlanta, NCarol., Cinn. lately? Watch the games and how good teams play. Watch how aggressive they are on both sides of the ball. Those are very good, consistent football programs right now. They are very confident in their assignments and each other to be very aggressive. Then watch teams trying not to lose, who make the same mistakes, who make mental errors and do the same thing over and over expecting better results like Det, Indi, SF, Houston, Cleveland and Dallas. Our record says who we are.
If for any miracle we we're to come back and win the division and go to the playoffs, I do not see enough playmakers to win anything more on this team. A healthy Frdrick, Hardy, Romo, Lee and Dez are not enough to cover the mistakes and inconsistencies of the rest of our defense, offense, special teams and ESPECIALLY the coaches.

I believe there is a lunatic fringe around here that would actually expect him to.

Lord help him if he comes close but misses it by a game. That game will be the only game a lot of people remember.

I think the Eagles are going to give us a run for our money on Sunday night. Im hoping we can run early and often and have some big plays down the field with Dez, as I think his conditioning and confidence on that foot will be much higher. Maxwell doesn't scare me as a CB and definitely don't think he can handle Dez.

He can handle the Dez that we saw on Sunday.

The Eagles are going to come into our stadium and kick our butts and then how will you feel about our future prospects? There is no room for error.

If you don't score at least 22 and better 25+ PPG then you will look bad. A bad offense makes a good defense look bad esp in the 4th quarter when they are worn down. You can break down the plays and even the losses but the bottom line is you must have a good QB.

Maxwell is trash. Dez would steal his lunch money unfortunately we have two bums who should be working at Target not playing on an NFL team at quarterback. Thanks Jerry. Thanking Romo is immortal.

Just curious (and before anyone jumps down my throat, I think we win at least one of the next two and remain alive for Miami):

When will it be enough for some to consider it over? Seven losses? Eight?

Nah, it's over. Even stealing a win against the Eagles or Bucs, your playoff hopes ride on Romo and the band going undefeated the rest of the way (against teams like the Packers and Bills) and sweeping the Commanders (not an easy task). That doesn't even take into account Romo having to shake off the rust and build that in-game chemistry back with the receivers against a good defensive team in Miami. That's just not very realistic.

I think they end up somewhere around 7-9 or 6-10

They need to win the next 2 to stay in it. Not even Romo can save them if they are 3-6 or 2-7 when he gets back. At 4-5, there's hope.

Romo can't go 5-2 or 6-1? Funny, he did 6-1 twice last year.

8-8 wins this division.

I get it but not just team scoring or lack thereof. Watching the abundance of individual mental mistakes. Poor play calling. Poor decision making by coaches and players. They look like a 2-5 team. Defense looks ok at times but a good offense can throw all over them. Now a great QB could change a lot of that but he has to be special. He has to be Romo.

You said that Sherman was trash also and that Dez would manhandle him all game.

We just have to agree to disagree.

We are making too many mistakes and we have for a long time even before Garrett took over.

You're not going to see 'better play calling' until the playbook opens up with a quality QB. It's not just making throws but everything that precedes it; presnap reads, experience seeing what the defense will look like postsnap and what they're doing, directing players for blitzes and putting them in places to succeed, making sure receivers run good routes and teaching if they screw up, commanding the huddle, seeing the field, going thru his reads, pocket presence, knowing when to step up and when to bail, working with the QB, OL and OC coaches during the week and in the game, and throwing accurately and into tight windows at times.

When you get enough of that you have some success on offense. That's supports the defense by giving them enough rest and time to work with the coaches on the sidelines to react to their offense and be put in the right place to succeed as well as scheme correctly.

Our record in a vacuum is irrelevant. All that matters is our record when compared with the other teams in our division. Right now, we have only one more loss than every other team in the division -- and none of them have faced the Patriots yet.

Until we're mathematically eliminated...

Why would you assume we'd be one and done? We were possibly a blown call away from advancing to the NFC title game last season, and I think our team is actually better this season (when Romo/Dez are healthy)... Most of us agree that had Romo started every game this season, our record would probably be around 6-1 (give or take a game), and that combined with our remaining schedule would put us on pace to be around 13-3 or 12-4... But the difference between this year's team and last year's team, is that this year's team has a legit defense.

Of course they will, we have Matt Cassel starting at QB... But they're not much better with Sam Bradford, and their WR's are average at best... I think our OL can handle their DL a lot better than their OL will be able to handle our DL... I just don't think their pathetic offense can score more than 17 points maximum against our defense, unless we give them short fields with turnovers. I know our offense has also been pathetic, and it will continue to be so, but we will still beat the Eagles on the backs of our OL and defense.

Because for some reason some posters think Romo will play like Cassel and Weeden when he returns.

i felt Seattle was a much tougher matchup than Philly because of their secondary and the playmaking ability of Wilson. In fact there isnt a unit on Seattle's defense that is inferior to The Eagles. Maybe the Dline is equal. On offense, Philly might be as good as Seattle but the way they have used Murray hasn't indicated that they can be as effective. Seattle is better at Qb and is probably equal at Wr and OL.
