The NFL as we know it will soon end. A couple years from now it will be flag football.

The concussions is what's gonna bring the sport down. It's gonna become a huge liability. Insurance companies will not insure football.

A couple years from now we'll be rooting for the Mexico City Cowboys. Because the NFL will have to move elsewhere to avoid lawsuits. And pay players less since the NFL will be hurting for advertisers if a scenario like this plays out.

All it will take is for one school district to get successfully sued for millions. The sport will dry up in the public school system, followed by the colleges, who won't be able to offset that liability risk.

Then, where is he NFL going to get its players?

Makes it more likely we'll see teams in London, Germany, Mexico etc where tv ratings are getting bigger.

They're still infinitesimal compared to viewership here.

TV ratings in UK have an audience of 15m per week. Much bigger than most US cities. German market is even bigger - dont know the figures.

Note that in Europe most NFL live games are on subscription sports channels, so Europeans are paying to watch whereas Americans watch for free.

Waivers don't excuse a failure to follow policy and procedures. One coach screws up, and a school district could get sued for $30 million. Game over.

That's a country, not a city. What are the ratings for Texas/Oklahoma/Lousiana/Arkansas for a Cowboys game. A lot more than 15 mm.

Besides, what player is going to want to play for London, and have to deal with those tax rates? It'll cut their pay in half.

In some countries in Europe income from playing sport professionslly is tax free.

I think Brexit may work against London. Domestic demand will drop significantly when incomes drop. Germany is now in pole position.

The NFL just put out a memo that said it was politics(what a joke) and not the anthem protests that are hurting ratings

That means it is 100% the anthem protests and not the election.......every comment section I have read has a lot more people protesting the protest than any other reason

People are tired of being preached to about a no-talent hack like Michael Sam.

They are up to here with never-ending blather about domestic violence, as if we need to be told every day that it's bad to hit women. The fans don't live the thug life of many of the players, yo.

They are tired of overly promoted causes and themes like military recruitment, breast cancer awareness, and NFL Play 60.

Color rush uniforms are patently stupid.

They are tired of this 24-hour fixation and over-exaggeration of concussions and protocol, and the umpteen new rules that go with it.'

They're tired of these "causes" like the anthem protests built around political movements based on complete lies.

They are tired of this constant *******ization of the rules in general, which has muddied something as simply as catching a football.

People want football again. We don't need lectures from Mike Florio and Bob Costas about how we're not tolerant enough about this or that. I don't need a political lecture during halftime. Just give us our beer commercials, and some T&A, and leave us alone.

It's just like this overhyped hurricane all over my TV. As if we've never seen one before. The gloom and doom ain't happening.

Just leave us alone.

Watching the coverage of the game last night all of the white announcers(Simms, Cowher) were defending Gabbert as the QB and all the black guys were defending a switch to Kap(Deion, Irvin, Faulk)

I know this probably get this thread locked but people don't want to deal with issues like race when watching sports.....they will go elsewhere .....but I fear it is too late....the NFL has now added the female Rooney Rule saying teams have to hire more woman for GM, coaching and training jobs

Viewership is down significantly, which I can understand, given how little time of the broadcast is actually devoted to the game. The younger generation has so may other ways to spend the time that it makes sense to not want to waste 3 hours on constant commercial interruptions and time stoppages.
