A 13 win team will play a single digit win team at their stadium in the playoffs.
They play entirely different schedules.

Comparing records doesn't work.

Division winners host. Don't like it? Win your division.

That GB loss may be what cost us the division in the end. Ugh. What could've been.

Regardless, if TB is so bad, we should have no problem taking care of them.

No excuses.

Well it’s the rules as they are currently written. I doubt anyone would complain if they implemented a rule that any wild card team that has a three game lead on their division winner opponent gets to have the game revert to a home game instead. I’d be all for that and wouldn’t care at all if it screwed Dallas at some point. It would be deserving.

The rule as-is is fine because as I'm sure others have said (... pardon me not perusing every post in the thread... ) with 1/3 of the schedule against division opponents, the strength or weakness of a division rightfully should be taken into consideration.

I would, however, support the idea of an exception, that, if a given team has a losing record (and their playoff opponent does not), in that specific situation, they cannot host a playoff game.

I’ve long held the opinion that the seeding process should be revised.

For now, it is what it is.
But I don’t think a crappy team that wins a crappy division should be automatically rewarded by default.

Nah it happens here and there but not on the regular. its fine. SFL nice this time of year :) we lost at home last year. Maybe a road game makes us focus, galvanize this team..,
We're 8-1 at home this year. Would MUCH rather be a home game than a road one.

The NFL has had these rules for forever....it is what it is.

We knew the rules. If we had taken care of business, then this wouldn't be an issue.
We have taken care of business. We have only lost 4 games ALL SEASON. Tampa Bay hasn't taken care of business. They lost 8. Besides we all know the rules . We all know they've been there for a thousand years. But they suck. They're bad rules without fairness or good faith. They should be changed in the offseason to avoid benefitting any particular team.

I disagree. Schedules can be unbalanced. Divisional rivalries, tough divisions.. can all alter the W/L result..

I personally think that Divisional winners should get the priority.. as we have benefitted from in the past too. A wild card berth is just that.. a wild card.

Imagine if we had a poorer record after duking it out in a tough division.. only to have to travel to Carolina because they have beaten up on a weak schedule?

I don’t believe its the first time a single digit team has hosted double digit winner
2010-11 season: 7-9 NFC West Champ Seahawks hosted 11-5 Saints
2014-15 season: 7-8-1 NFC South Champ Panthers hosted 11-5 Cardinals
2020-21 season: 7-9 NFC East Champ Football Team hosted 11-5 Buccaneers
