I disagree. Schedules can be unbalanced. Divisional rivalries, tough divisions.. can all alter the W/L result..

I personally think that Divisional winners should get the priority.. as we have benefitted from in the past too. A wild card berth is just that.. a wild card.

Imagine if we had a poorer record after duking it out in a tough division.. only to have to travel to Carolina because they have beaten up on a weak schedule?
You're helping my argument. But there would be no argument if it were simply done by seeding. Better record=home field. There would be no problems then. And I'm OK with doing it next yr. Dallas didnt(so far) earn a home playoff game this year.

In the NBA every team plays every team during the season.

NFL teams don't play 18 teams in the league during the season. They only play 14 different teams each.

Totally different.
So who were these incredibly different and difficult teams that Tampa played that caused the alterations in their won/lost record. Without looking I dare say Dallas had a more difficult schedule.

If we can’t beat Tampa we don’t belong. Playoffs in football sucks because it’s one game but you have to bring your A game. If we don’t we suck. If we do we don’t suck for a week.

At least the weather will be pretty good in Tampa. I hope that they beat the Eagles.

if we were the 8-9 team hosting, every blog, vlog, podcast and ESPN show would be howling in protest
They are doing that for ratings and simpletons and we all know this already. We get the people going lol. I don’t let that type of emotional stuff change my views.

The plus side SHOULD be that a 'great team' that finishes 2nd in their division.. goes up against the 'weak' team that won..

In theory we should be happy about going to Tampa.. yes it is an away game.. but we are going up against the weakest div winner.. we should be excited that we have got the easiest div match up.

I like this thinking :oldcouple:
just accepting the fact that most likely where we are going.. brady and rogers once again finds a way to stick it to the Cowboys.. DC team, should want to avenge that first loss.by far the worst game of the year and now can go back and make it right.
KM run the damn ball, lots of motion, pollard, Turpin and Lamb in the backfield moving a lot and throw efficient passes in PA.. do not have Dak after no offseason to speak of and losing cooper, tyron, ced, cwill, Collins, turner, steel starting at RT game 1 and a rookie LT in his first game go to FL and have dak and back there and throw 40 times..ugh,. zeke was hot that game and they abandon the run, we had all year to see this mistake and now fix it.

It’s part of the NFL. It’s kind of like informed consent. The NFL teams were informed that the 4 divisional winners will host playoff games where the 1st seed will get a bye. The teams consented ( agree ) to it. Simple to it.

2010-11 season: 7-9 NFC West Champ Seahawks hosted 11-5 Saints
2014-15 season: 7-8-1 NFC South Champ Panthers hosted 11-5 Cardinals
2020-21 season: 7-9 NFC East Champ Football Team hosted 11-5 Buccaneers
what were the outcomes?

Everyone knows the rules going in. Win your division and you'll have no problems.
