The NFL should be ashamed if Tampa Bay hosts playoff game

Of course we know the rule. It’s a dumb rule and should be changed. Why would you support a dumb rule?

If the NFL is truly about winning, then the best 7 teams make the playoffs and the 4 best records get a home game!
Because winning the division must have consequences otherwise the regular season means nothing. This has been discussed for years.

Let it go......there was no problem when we were fighting for a playoff game.....a home game with an 8-8 record. Let it go.

This would be added to a long list of other things the NFL should be ashamed of including suspending a young man 6 games with zero corroborated evidence against him and solely relying on the words of a “witness” with an obvious self serving axe to grind.

there are many other transgressions that are too numerous to list

The NFL has had these rules for forever....it is what it is.

We knew the rules. If we had taken care of business, then this wouldn't be an issue.
You win some and you lose some. We have taken care of business except the fact that we lost to Tampa. 12-4 ain't bad.

Seattle beat New Orleans
Carolina defeated Arizona
Washington lost to Tampa Bay
so 2 of the 3 underdogs won LOL not a good omen!! similar to the NYG run in 07.. watch out for the underdog although as the road team we are technically the underdog..hmm

A 13 win team will play a single digit win team at their stadium in the playoffs.
Disagree. The Bucs are a division winner. They have earned the right to host a playoff game. Stop crying about an established and agreed-upon format just because it doesn't follow your preconceived notions of how it should be.

Why does an 8 win division winner, from a weak as_ division, deserve a home playoff game vs a 12 game winning team from a strong division?

Winning more games should be rewarded WAY more than winning a weak division!

Winning should be rewarded above all else in the NFL! How do some of you not understand this?
Everybody understands it. They just don't agree with you.

With the way your thinking there is no point in having an AFC and NFC conference either. What if a 9-7 AFC team misses the playoffs because there are 7 teams with better records in the AFC but an 8-8 team makes the playoffs in the NFC.

THATS NOT FAIR!!!!

We would have to get rid of all divisions and conferences and just have the teams with the 14 best records make the playoffs.

The rules are fine the way they are.

LOL why? If you win the division you get a home playoff game. It’ll likely always be that way… It’s the prize for winning the division

..no bones about it. We have to go in there and take care of business. Good teams do that.

I have confidence, WE can beat anyone. Just have to show up for it.
I don’t know that we can beat everyone on the road… But I do think we blow out the bucs

..they all might be close. But we can pull it off. Baring we're relatively healthy.

I feel unsung wildcards will be Hilton and Peters.

Adding the extra wildcard team has watered down the playoffs some in my opinion. However, the extra wildcard team and the extra game has given more teams a chance. The league wanted more teams having a shot at the playoffs the final week of the season. There were too many meaningless season finale games prior to the changes.

Monetary gain rules above all, hence the added playoff game and very soon 18 game season.

It is also fair to note that none in the media are really complaining about it this year because we go on the road but if the situation were reversed, they would be howling how it was ridiculous.

Everyone has their opinion on this subject, and I don't think the teams are afraid to play anyone,no matter where the games are played. It would be great to see Dallas finally beat the Packers or the Bucs in a big spot,no matter where the game is played. However with all of that being said, it still doesn't make it right because that's the way it's been done in the past. The NFL doesn't get everything right and just because they haven't changed the way they seed division winners with poor records, it doesn't mean its the proper way to do things. There is no way a team that wins their division, but has a far lesser record than the visiting team should be hosting a home playoff game. If a team played in a garbage division all year and was able to win that trash division that's great, but they shouldn't be rewarded by hosting a home playoff game. The playoffs should reward teams for a season of excellent play, not punish them because they played at a higher level for the majority of the season.
