I don't see them pulling Weeden for Cassell at this point.

Weeden showed improvement from last week to this week. They need to stick with him and see if he continues to improve.

Throw Cassel in against NE. They'll lose but maybe he'll be better prepared for games going forward.

Yeah I know that's a terrible strategy but that's all we have left.

Replacing Weeden with any other QB on the roster won't make a bit of difference. Anyone who thinks that is the answer is an idiot. The team is rolling out a preseason roster on game day. THAT is the problem.

Doesn't matter who starts at QB next week, they're going to get trounced, may as well leave Weeden in there.

Weeden made the game winning throw.

I suggest anyone who calls for his benching for basically the same player is an complete imbecile.

I agree. The defense, coaching gaffes, 12 men on the field.......

We will be lucky to win one game with Weeden as our QB. I doubt Cassel is much better but surely it's worth at least trying?

He played the role of quality backup tonight. Sure, the offense -- again -- went through LONG stretches of futility, but that's going to happen with most backup QBs. No turnovers, a 20-point effort, and a game-tying drive to send it to OT. Hard to ask for much more out of him, or any backup.

What will happen:
Cowboys start Weeden against the Pats and we get killed.
Weededn looks bad and get benched after the game.
Cassel has 2 weeks to prep for the giants.

What should happen:
Cowboys bench Weeden now.
Play Cassel against the Pats, and give him some game experience and time to build some chemistry (we still most likely lose)
Then Cassel has another 2 weeks to prep for the giants.

The Cowboys season comes down to three games now, while Romo is out.
Giants, Eagles, and Bucs.
They have to win at least 2 of those to have any shot at the division when Romo comes back.
It sucks that we could have won both of these last two games had the defense played a little better.
So who gives us the better chance against those three teams Weeden or Cassel.
If its Cassel, then throw him in now.

I don't think Weeden is a good NFL QB, but our offense is reaching such depths that the QB is actually not the biggest problem. This is a preseason squad we're fielding all across the board at the moment. Romo could make something of it. Cassel or Weeden? Not so much.

This should be a fun week.

At least it won't be so simple to whine about Weeden all week.

How about griping how our defense was subpar against a mediocre Saints team?

I think we see more of the injury excuse thing.

Weeden lost me when he got breathed on and curled up into a fetal position. I cant be lead by a guy like that.....I am sure man y of our players feel the same way. Cassell will stay in there and take a shot if he has to. Start Kellen Moore next week, then Cassel after the bye. I'd cut Weeden tonight...he is never going to win us a game. It's not good enough that he may not be the direct cause of the loss.

What exactly does Cassell do that Weeden doesn't? They do the exact same things and calling for change for change sake is dumb.

I mean, it's hard to really get mad at any players or assign any blame.

At the end of the day, nobody can overcome this insane amount of injuries. How would the 70's Steelers look without Bradshaw, Lynn Swann and half the Steel Curtain? How would the 80's 49ers look withoit Montana, Rice and Lott? How would the 90's Boys look without the Triplets, Maryland, Norton and Woodson? How would the Pats look without Brady and Gronk?

Next man up is a cute catchphrase, but it's not even close to being realistic.

That said, our team is still showing fight and doing what they can. But the talent in the NFL is too close. I have no doubt we would be 4-0 if we were healthy. And that's really what hurts the most.

I thought Williams with his Irvin-like work ethic and Escobar and his catch radius would make a difference. Guess not.
