Jerry Jones is not senile.
The Dallas Cowboys are not a casual father/son activity. It is a multi-billionaire dollar professional sports enterprise and should be treated as such.
Would I fight my father concerning questionable decision-making impacting the on-the-field goals of said enterprise? Yes.
Would I step down and remove myself from the professional conflict between my father and myself if compromises could not be achieved? Yes. My father is more important to me than being purposefully implicit making bad judgments--simply to appease him in exchange of on-the-field success. Jerry Jones, I am sorry, my father can fail all on his own without any help.
You have identified a central issue though. Jerry and Stephen Jones are executives of a National Football League franchise, who treat it like a lifelong father and son project. The father's age is not the problem. How much time they have together is not either. How they perform as self/father appointed Owner/President/General Manager and Chief Operating Officer/Co-Owner before, now and from now on is the problem.
