As a fan of the Cowboys for the last 50 years, it has become embarrassing what this organization has become. Those three Super Bowls has the ruined Jerry and the Cowboys legacy has paid for it. It has become very hard to even remain as a casual fan with the this ongoing circus.
I've already kind of started distancing myself from this joke of a franchise. I play golf on Sundays, now. I haven't scheduled a single round around a Cowboys game this past season and I won't next year either. If Garrett is retained, I won't bother to even watch the games that wouldn't typically fall into my golf window. This past season (though frustrating as a die hard) was nowhere near as disappointing as it would have been if I would have wasted my Sundays watching this turd pile of an organization.
It will be obvious, if Garrett is retained as HC, that Jones and Co. have zero actual interest in winning. If they don't give a ****, why should I? I've been a fan since 81 and with all the hopes that were wrapped up in this squad this season, from an expectation standpoint, this might have been one of the most frustrating seasons I have ever witnessed. Doesn't seem to be a single team player on he roster. Just a bunch of individuals wearing the same laundry. If I had wasted all my Sundays this past season watching this crap, I'd be six feet from the edge right now. Thankfully I didn't. I got out and enjoyed myself, knocked 9 strokes off my handicap and had an absolute blast EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY.
I don't ever see myself not following the Cowboys (I'll still check in here once in a while) and I certainly won't root for another team but, I'm not scheduling another minute of my life around a Cowboys game again until they prove that they actually want to win. Keeping Garrett around would be a step in the opposite direction and and a slap in the face to the entire fan base. At that point, I'm (for the most part) checking out for a while.
