***The Official Roy Williams Gripe Thread*** | MERGE |

The Romo and Roy connection looked better. They were in the same area code. Roy just needs to hang on to the ball.

To me, the bottomline is that Roy Williams is hurting the team right now.

His negative plays outweigh his positive plays, and by a fairly wide margin.

I'd have no trouble with him being knocked down to 3rd WR. Make him earn a chance to start again.

He'd be the 3rd WR until someone got hurt.

I did not read this entire thread, but lets face some facts.

A. Roy apparently still does not understand the playbook after a freaking year and a half. What the hell is the problem, is Roy just dumb because that is the only reasonable explanation after this lenght of time.

B. Roy is not playing like a #1 WR, and considering the draft picks we gave up and how much of the salary cap we are using on him, his current production is a major issue. His 100 yards today was mostly in garbage time when the game was already over, I am talking about his production with the game on the line.

So what we have is a WR that we severly overpaid for in terms of picks and salary and that WR still is having problems with the playbook after a freaking year and a half. At this point, I feel a 1 or 2 game benching or demotion to #3 WR is in order. It worked wonders for Crayton, so it just might work with Roy also.

Jerry Jones is not going to own up to this blunder, so lololol @ the thought that Roy would be benched. He's the most untouchable player on the offense (probably team) not named Tony Romo.

The next morning I still hate Roy just as much.

He's built like the best WR in football, but he plays like Wayne McGarrity.

Most of his yards came in that last drive....
That's nothing to be proud about, GB clearly had the game and they knew it.
The GB secondary could care less if we scored.

Uh, he had 80 of his 105 yards up until the last drive. Seriously, I'm starting to think that we have the most clueless fans in the NFL. Williams lost the game? Wow, that's original. If you and all the other RW haters want to hate, then go right ahead. But please, just PLEASE, get your heads out of your ***** long enough to know that he alone was NOWHERE NEAR the only reason Dallas lost this game.

And he's hurting a 6-3 team how? OHHHHH, it was Roy Williams that lost to the G-Men, Broncos, and Packers. It amazes me how unbelievably ******** the logic of a hater can be.

Roy Williams just isn't performing up to the contract and probably the expectations even the GM and Head Coach had of him.

Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin have outplayed him throughout the course of this season.

As I have always stated, at this point, the only good thing about the Roy Williams trade is that it allowed Jerry Jones to justify getting rid of Terrell Owens, which was still a good thing.

This is a money oriented league and there is no way Roy Williams will be benched or demoted at this point in time.

Like Michael Irvin said, you can hide mediocre play in Detroit, but in Dallas, there is nowhere to hide and people will continue to stay on Roy Williams' case until he starts performing at a respectable level.

I don't believe he has the will or the talent to put up Terrell Owens type numbers, but he is certainly talented enough to do alot more than what he is doing.

I really didn't think he was as awful as people are proclaiming today. But I knew that was going to be the case when we lost and he had that fumble and dropped pass. I knew that people would act like the guy was just absolutely horrific on the day because of those two bad plays.

He had a couple really bad plays, as all players do, but I don't think he was horrific today and I don't think he's the biggest reason we lost either.

Braveheart, stop trying to be logical. Everything bad that has happened to this team this year is Roy Williams fault (if you truly rely on the words of certain folks on this board). And, if you actually sit and read what those folks say, they will try to convince you that the reason Romo got sacked 5 times, or that Jason Garrett stopped running MBIII, or that the defense couldn't get off the field on third down, OR that Marc Columbo broke his leg was all Roy Williams fault.

P.S. It's also RW's fault that Romo threw 3 picks vs. the G-Men (if you listen to "them")

Such a waste. Such a horrible trade. Even the Joey Galloway trade wasn't as big a disaster as the RW11. Maybe we just need a team with no guys named Roy Williams on the roster.

Yes it was... that was absolutely the worst. For what Dallas gave up and subsequently the talent drop off over the course of the next few years, coupled with Jerry and the scouting departments poor drafting, it was the worst.

Maybe I'm about the only one, but I was actually really encouraged by the Romo-Roy connection yesterday. He screwed up bad, and that sucks, but going forward I think we're getting more confidence as an offense in all of our pieces.

In a loss, Romo and Roy were making plays. He showed some gamebreaking ability. If teams want to take Austin and Witten away, Roy showed he can beat them (and then fumble, but still)...

Far more troubling was our complete lack of dedication to the run in a close game. Garrett again shows that previous similar losses have taught him absolutely nothing.

Besides Roy's obvious failures in the catch run and keep the ball department, I'd like to know how many of those coverage sacks / throwaways where attributable to Roy not being in the right place at the right time. From what I could see, the Packers had 2 defenders covering Austin and Witten on many plays which makes you wonder why Williams wasn't open on more plays. It would be interesting to hear from somebody that was actually at the game - although it's difficult to know where Roy was supposed to be except in situations where he clearly rounds off his routes.
