I didn't think Cooper played terrible considering the circumstances, but it was obvious when the Cowboys got behind why he sticks to throws 10 yards down the field. That's his role, manage the game and hope someone makes a play like Turpin did and the defense does its job. It's unbelievable McCarthy had him throw over 50 times though.

At this point I agree, over the next game or 2 turn to Lance and give him a look. The rest of the season should be about evaluating what you got. We still don't know much about Lance. Maybe he does turn it over more than Rush who had his own turnover worthy blunders, but what I do know is he's much faster in the pocket and can push the ball down the field more.

Trey Lance.

The punter got more pass attempts last night.

Cooper Rush is so bland and boring that it makes you lose focus on the game.

Who cares if Lance sucks at this point? What’s the worst that can happen? We lose by a 20?

If they announced today that Lance is starting next week it would instantly bring more excitement to the fanbase. If not for no other reason then the unknown that he brings. We still haven’t seen him get a real chance with the starters.

There is nobody wanting to watch Cooper Rush out there again. There is zero excitement in that.

We. Want. Lance.

Sink or swim.

Keep sinking, you quit swimming a long time ago. Too, bad you took some good fans with you.

I think the Cowboys know Lance is gone after this season. In their minds, why play him if he isn't going to be here? There is no upside. I do not think he will do enough to win games for Dallas. Their problems are too many for Lance, or anyone, to solve at this point.
Is this necessarily the case though? The guy is still young and, in theory, could at least be developed into a serviceable backup. It's not like he would command much, if anything, on the open market. Come to think of it, maybe they want to keep him around and that is why they aren't playing him. If he looked good, some team would be willing to pay for him.

Rush threw about 5-6 INT's last night, just most of them were dropped. The guy has no arm strength whatsoever. I honestly think I might have more arm strength. We had to keep throwing though. The Texans were daring us to by crowding the line. The only issue was, we couldn't. I honestly don't understand why we aren't at least putting some packages in for Lance. Like, that 4th down near the goal line. That would've been a perfect time. Let him use the threat of his legs. Maybe I was right in my previous post though. They are trying to hide him to keep him.

McCarthy needs to play Lance now so he can really show the world how stupid Jerry was for giving up a 4th round pick. I mean we all know already but to rub Jerry’s face in it would be even better. Just throw Lance and Mingo out there please,

Unfortunately, McCarthy has no say in who does and doesn’t play.

Absolutely, down the field throws aren't his game and there were atleast 2 more ints that I have no idea how they were dropped. Maybe they're trying to stash Lance as you mentioned, but at some point you have to figure out if he's even worth trying to keep.

Lance is just a worse version of Dak. Shouldn't even be on the roster. Then again, neither should Dak. That contract is amazingly bad.

I want to lose out at this point... what ever QB helps us lose for a top 3 pick is who I want to play. But who am I kidding ? Jerry would probably just trade out a top 3 pick...

I agree but these coaches still think they have a shot at staying here and will p\ay anybody who they think gives them the best chances to win.

We all know this entire coaching staff will be gone next year, except for maybe a few.

Throw Lance in there and see what happens. Just for that reason, it would make us a little more enthusiastic about watching a Cowboys game.

Lance already played last week. In the few and limited snaps he took, he went 4 for 6, 21 yds, 1 INT, a 17.7 QBR and a 32.6 passer rating. The dude is a BUST.
True. He's neck and neck with some of the worst 1st rd QBs of all time...which is why they should play him. He's the perfect tank Commander and will ensure us a top 3 pick. Jerry knows this but he can't stomach the embarrassment of his GM skills(trading a 4th for a human trash can) being talked about the remainder of the season. Rush and McCarthy give him a buffer from the criticism.

Lance is being developed every day they train.

He needs to start.
But why? Jerry made the decision to scrap Lance when he signed Dak to that huge contract. If we play him and he does well, he will be snapped up by another team with more cap space...... that number currently sits at 22 teams and we haven't signed Micah.

Rush is a tough one to figure out. Occasionally, he’ll deliver a great pass or two, but then the next series, he’s throwing wildly all over the place. Honestly, he could’ve had 3-5 interceptions last night. It’s clear he is what he is at this point. There’s nothing more to evaluate.

Lance, on the other hand, is a mystery. Deep down, we probably all suspect he’s a bust, but as OP mentioned, at least he’d inject some excitement into the game. Let’s see what the kid can do. If he flops, so what? We’re already losing plenty. But who knows, maybe the light turns on for him. At the very least, a younger, more athletic QB would make things more interesting to watch.

He probably is but at this point, why would you want to win any games?

The season is lost and all you can hope for now is the best possibly draft position and hope we don't draft a bust!

I have said several times before that I don't think Lance is the answer, but Rush is definitely not the answer as he seems to get older every time he throws a pass.

There is no reason not to play Lance at this point even if he plays horribly. Whether the Cowboys win or not, at least the games would be a little more enjoyable to watch.

Watching Rush play answers the question, "What would an average fan look like playing quarterback in the NFL?"
Put Mingo out there as a starter with Ceedee...put those 4th round picks for all to see.
