The One Player That Would Make Things Exciting They Refuse To Play

Once Jerry realizes that Dak is now labelled as injury-prone, he must think ahead and search for QB 2 that could run with the team when/if. Sure Trey looks awful, but the season is done so there is zero risk in seeing if anything is there to build on next year. Can we not sign him to an extension? Are teams going to line up in a bidding war for his backup services? It's all ridiculous, and only Jerry fails to realize it

Trey Lance.

The punter got more pass attempts last night.

Cooper Rush is so bland and boring that it makes you lose focus on the game.

Who cares if Lance sucks at this point? What’s the worst that can happen? We lose by a 20?

If they announced today that Lance is starting next week it would instantly bring more excitement to the fanbase. If not for no other reason then the unknown that he brings. We still haven’t seen him get a real chance with the starters.

There is nobody wanting to watch Cooper Rush out there again. There is zero excitement in that.

We. Want. Lance.

Sink or swim.
I was surprised they didn’t put him in after the about 8:00 mark after a coop fumble and a near pick and we were down several scores.

I don't understand why they don't play Lance. It doesn't make sense. At least with his ability to run would help this team. They say he needs playing time but they won't give him any. The Cowboys arn't going to the playoffs so why not.

Unfortunately, McCarthy has no say in who does and doesn’t play.
What exemplifies the difference between the Cowboys and 31 other NFL teams:
"After the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team will continue to roll with Rush as the starter, saying the 30-year-old gives the team the best chance to win." (Athlon, 11-19)

Jerry said he wanna win games.........what does that tell you about Lance? In other words, when/if we start Trey Lance, we have no intention of winning.

I personally think Lance sucks, and badly. However, I agree w/ you. Play him.

Completely agree. We are already being embarrassed every week. There's no such thing as worse embarrasment.

Put Lance in, let him run around and see what happens.

We all know he's not the answer but at least we won't have to watch Rush throw it for 3 yards every play.

The team no longer has a vested interest in the development of Trey Lance. His contract is up at seasons end. So, if he goes out there and does well, all that would do is put us in a bidding war we can't afford next off season.
Very true, but on the flip side, he won't be worth keeping if he doesn't get any valuable experience.

wow. glad to see you coming off the Rush Crush train and realize he is not all you thought he was. without a strong defense, he was below average. now without offensive help, his limitations are in full display.

and I agree with you. there is nothing to be gained from Rush playing. the season is lost and continuing to have him play would be just display of "we are still competing and not throwing in the towel". so I don't think we see Lance until after thanksgiving. so the next two games, Rush it is. perhaps even after thanks giving, when we probably beat the giants. that may just spur Jones to keep Rush for another game, but Lance should start minimally the last three games of the year, which by that point, we are mathematically eliminated.

He's not worth keeping. Jerry made that decision when he signed Dak to that absurd contract a week before the season. We gave Lance an opportunity in the preseason and he didn't show enough to unseat Cooper Rush. He is done in Dallas.

Lance was horrible in pre season, I don’t it will translate well against starters.

Its so frustrating to watch Rush fumble snaps and then throw passes no where close to the WR's. He literally didn't complete a pass over 10 yds against Philly. With this OL, he's a sitting duck. At least Lance gives you a threat to run the ball when things break down, which is nearly every play

Are you trying to make logical sense from what Jerry says?
You know better.

No offense but Trey just doesn't have it for the NFL!
Yes, he's another Fields-type QB.
NONE of our QBs do.
NONE!
The sooner this is accepted as a reality the sooner this team might see better days on offense.

I tend to agree, but in that case there's no reason not to play him at this point like OP suggested.

Hell, at this point, cut Rush, start Lance, and have Grier play back up. What do the Boys have to lose?
