Trey Lance.

The punter got more pass attempts last night.

Cooper Rush is so bland and boring that it makes you lose focus on the game.

Who cares if Lance sucks at this point? What’s the worst that can happen? We lose by a 20?

If they announced today that Lance is starting next week it would instantly bring more excitement to the fanbase. If not for no other reason then the unknown that he brings. We still haven’t seen him get a real chance with the starters.

There is nobody wanting to watch Cooper Rush out there again. There is zero excitement in that.

We. Want. Lance.

Sink or swim.
Why not. We know what we have in Rush. He needs a lot of talent around him to win. Dak needs help also, most QB do. But now we can see how bad the Offense is under MM calling the same worn out predictable plays. Dak has basically 1 good WR and 1 good TE. No run game. Or not much of one. Our Defense tries but when they are on the field that long it’s only a matter of time. We need a DT and LB.

Hell, at this point, cut Rush, start Lance, and have Grier play back up. What do the Boys have to lose?
I would be taking a long look at Grier and Lance. I think Lance will be owed to much after this season. If Grier has improved we may want to look at cutting Rush.

Trey is really, really, really bad evidently. This probably his last year in NFL.

Lance kinda stinks.

I mean at this point, play him if you want as the season is over.

But based on some of the responses and the people making them, some still hold out hope that Lance will go out there and play as well as Dak or better which is kind of laughable at this point. Dak might not be a good QB league wide, but he's the best the Cowboys have.

I tend to agree, but in that case there's no reason not to play him at this point like OP suggested.
Well, Maybe its better to give the guy who might be on the team next year the snaps? Giving Rush experience could benefit us. Giving the snaps to Lance doesn't benefit us at all...... unless you think he increases our chance of losing.

Rush will be a FA too. There is no reason to keep playing him.

Jerry is scared Trey might do well. If he did, Jerry would look foolish giving Dak that big contract.

But why? Jerry made the decision to scrap Lance when he signed Dak to that huge contract. If we play him and he does well, he will be snapped up by another team with more cap space...... that number currently sits at 22 teams and we haven't signed Micah.
Then we get a better comp pick. Allow him to play and ball out. We get a 3rd round pick. Jerry can look good from it. However Jerry is too egotistic to look bad from giving Dak a huge contract to take that criticism.

What's crazy is that it's actually a logical choice with the state of the Oline where at least Trey can run or maybe you can switch up the offense some to utilize those skills instead of trying to fit him in the same offense of two qbs who aren't mobile. Makes zero sense not to put him as the starter. Issue is, Jerry still thinks the season is salvageable and won't listen to anyone.... well probably no one to listen to him cause all around him are "yes men" including his son.

Unfortunately he already looks foolish regardless of any other decisions in giving Dak that contract at the beginning of the season. He waited that long, it was no need to do the deal at all since free agency had past. That's beyond foolish.

I agree, Lance is a bust, but id still rather see him out there than Rush. At least Lance can run, and has an arm. Rush is as boring as you can get.
The objective is to lose. All we have to play for is a draft pick. If you think Lance gives us a better chance to win, you should want him on the bench.

Thats one way to look at it. But I think its the opposite. Jerry is afraid of giving Trey a full game and have him throw 3 INTs and lose a fumble. Then Jerry would need to answer about giving up a 4th rounder that could have been a RB.

This is the answer. Trey Lance is being blackballed by Jerry Jones. I think Lance would perform better than Cooper Rush and would be able to move the chains with this offense. Jerry is terrified of Trey Lance and him moving the offense even better than Dak. You need to feel bad for him tbh. He won’t even get his nfl chance because of this old man!

Some may believe that McCarthy is the one who is making the decision to stick with Cooper Rush. But seeing what Jerry Jones had to say about it on the radio today, points to Jerry clearly having a say so in the idea that the Cowboys best chance at winning any game remaining this season, is to still go with Rush.
