we didn't game plan with Rush, we leaned on Defense to carry the day. Rush got progressively worse and very fast. his last two games were atrocious. against the Rams he had the worst performance of any QB in the league in 2022. yet we won, becaue defense scored once, dominated the Rams, and got the offense another 3 points with another turnover. 76 yards of next passing ain't going to get you many wins in the league.

and we had 20M on the cap this year. who did we sign to make the team better? we chose to spend 7.5M total on bottom of the barrel FAs.
We dumbed down the offense and found that we were most suited to a run first game plan.....indeed, Dak benefitted from it and upto half-time in the 49ers game was working.

That $20m went on retaining LVE, signing Barr, Hilton, Peters, Fowler, Hankins....now for that money that's all you can afford, but they all played a part and when you've got so many holes that's what you've got t do....spread the CAP.

we can still do that, and Dak is much better than Rush. there is no way in heck anyone every wins a championship with Rush. so what's the point?

and the 20M was still available on the cap. outside of those signings. and that's not exactly who is who of anything in the NFL. all bottom of the barrel signings.
p.s. Hankins was a trade. low end. low rent.

Rush will either stay to see if Dak stinks it up and maybe gets a shot. Or someone pays him NOT 40 million a year he can go maybe start somewhere else.

There is no World where Rush is a reference to how to run an offense.
Just stop this.

Yes, it was outstanding to win 4 of 5, but conveniently no one ever mentions the loss where he was grounded and awful. Eventually, the defense can't carry you or the running game and the QB has to do dumb stuff to try and catch up. Those suggesting running an ultra conservative offense like Coop did are not in full possession of the facts.

Rush ain't that dude or he would be starting.
Correction... 40 milion dollars will tell you otherwise... That's the only reason Dak isn't going anywhere. And the idiot father and son are talking about the possibility of another 10 years?

Cooper Rush showed that all you really need is a bus driver.
Just like Jalen Hurts, and Brock Purdy...
Yeah when you look at the league, the "know it alls" said the guys above had no chance to take their team anywhere. They also said Geno Smith was garbage, Tua was a bust, Daniel Jones was a bust, etc..

Point being most people are going to trash any player that hasn't already "been ordained". I see a league where a number of backups stepped in and were able to keep the team afloat. Young players that had been written off by the masses made strong cases that they might be blossoming instead.

In many ways, it's never been easier to be an NFL QB. We have very average QB's consistently putting up nice statistical seasons. Having a top tier QB is always preferable but it isn't required to get regular season wins and even some playoff success. The lesser QB just has to do his job efficiently.

This fanbase has always had an odd love for the backup. Rush by every metric is not a good passer of the football by NFL standards..he is not, if he was he would be on another team starting as there are plenty of teams that need an upgrade at the position. Can you go cheap at QB and build a team ABSOLUTLEY can you do better than Rush and stay even Cheaper.... ABSOLUTLEY. The only thing Rush showed me is that KM had a non shotgun scheme and he doesnt like to use it unless he is forced.

Rush's best attribute is not making mistakes. What happened the one time an opponent broke 20 points? He made mistakes and the Cowboys lost. He's extremely limited.
I tend to agree with the two italicized statements. However, let me play devil's advocate for a minute.
His other major strength is that he keeps the offense in rhythm. He is on time and on target with most balls. Everyone is engaged when he is on the field.
Limited by his arm strength and mobility, sure. But isn't #4 limited in his own ways?
No one would have predicted he would go 5-1 in games he started over the last two years. But he did. So, at what point does "fact" override "opinion"?
I am hard pressed to believe that our record had Rush played every game last year would have been much different than 12-5. Do I recognize that it could have gone downhill? Sure. But there is no actual evidence to support that.
Am I suggesting that he is an "answer"? No. But I am suggesting that he has proven he can do more than what people said he could do yet many continue to act as though he has done nothing. Just baffles me when a guy has won 5 of 6.

Not assessing a guy's skillset baffles me.

Tebow won. So, why didn't he win a starting gig? Lack of passing skills. He could throw deep and run the ball, and that was about it.

You're using a team stat to assess an individual player. We were 5-1 w/ Zeke.

95% of people were defending Dak before the Divisional playoff game rubbing it in our faces how good he was against the Bucs. Sure for a short time after the Divisional game some more people turned on him but most of them are right back on the bandwagon or will be by next season.
Dak is better when he sets his feet and throws. Tampa game saw more of that

No, I'm assessing that he played pretty well. I stated that I understand the players limitations. Also read my last statement again. If we had just gone off popular opinion we would have just forfeited the games he played. Just like SF would have just given up when Jimmy G went down.
It's not always about the easily measurable or what the popular opinion dictates.

“Rubbing in your faces” how good the QB for your team played. Do you realize how ****ed up your perspective is?

You’re mad when your QB plays well. Ok, carry on man.
Yep Jayinem and MountaineerCowboys obsession with Dak is disturbing. They even want to wear his face as their avatar, yet show nothing but disdain for him. Is it thin line between love and hate.

And the fact that they think members who speak positive of Dak when he plays well is somehow a stain on the fan base speaks the lack of class from detractors of their ilk.

.....may want to go back and view TRomo games......as heroic as he was at times, interceptions were part of the reason for comeback attempts, alot. Right now Dak is performing just as TRomo performed many times......up & down. OC removed, so Dak and Kellen Moore no longer are connected to suspect one or the other is to blame. We will see.
Might want to go back and view my post. I said Romo improved as his career progressed.

Which is correct.

Not so with #4

yep, Rush proved that dak has no brain and is one of the slowest processors in the game.

If Rush's arm was a tad bit better then they would be no comparison between the two.

and if dak had a brain, he would be a good quarterback.
Never having a losing season in a league with parity would suggest he does have a brain
Captaining the ship to back to back 12-5 season would suggest he does
What he doesn’t have is enough talent to carry a team on his own
And against the better competition in the league he’s a tick slow in processing ( I agree with you there)

So when you combine that with a receiving corps that is in the bottom of the league in separation and a Oline that is at the bottom of the league in pass block win rate and a coordinator that doesn’t design routes against good defenses well enough you get deer in headlights Dak
I’ll add when run game is stymied so is the qb

But I don’t expect a guy who’s sole purpose is talk smack and create conflict and troll to get that

I’d rather have Mahomes or Rodgers too but since Dak isn’t going anywhere I support the guy

Only option is to improve roster
