Any win is great. Any win versus a division opponent is better. Any win vs the Giants is the best. I cannot stand that team and I cannot stand their stupid salsa dancing WR Cruz.

It's poetic justice that the Giants lost the way they did with all their players dancing at every point in the game even though they didn't have the lead once.

Who's the guy that was dancing after he sacked Romo? What a clown.

Great win by the Cowboys, and very awesome to start out the year 1-0 against our future competitors for the division crown later in the year.

We overcame missing 2 starters on the DL.

We played basically for the first time with our starting OL.

The rookies came to play...Escobar and Holloman with fumble recoveries, Williams bounced back from INT with a big 3rd down catch. Is anyone doubting Frederick at 31 now?

The switch to the hurry up when we saw their D dragging shows Garrett's growth as a HC.

We actually got a roughing the passer call.

Harris was a beast as gunner.

This year's draft class could rival 2005 if the rookies keep up their current pace down the road.

I didn't bother coming in here last night (except for a brief bit at halftime). This seems like the thread to be in, given that overall I thought we played well and we, you know... WON.

What plays and people allowed the Giants to hang in there? Rookie mistakes by Williams (fixable with time and patience); poor play by Bernadeau (likely benched very soon); some bad throws by Romo (but he played great overall); one blown coverage by inexperienced secondary (that's a real worry but, again, fixable); great play by Eli Manning (expected and not in our control); and some dumb penalties (but probably not more than average).

I'll take that any day. I feel pretty good about this team.

Smith shut down Pierre-Paul! Whats even better is how dumb JPP sounded after the game trying to downplay his crappy performance.

"I wasn't tired, my back didn't hurt at all, I've just got to get into that football shape," Pierre-Paul said. "The next game is more serious than this one. We've got Peyton Manning coming through. I expect to keep getting better every day."

Hey JPP guess what, the Broncos aren't in your division! Heck, they aren't even in the NFC. Keep circling those AFC games big guy. We will take these "not serious" NFC East wins all season. Enjoy the bottom of the division.

I'm really impressed with George Selvie. I really think we found a diamond in the rough!

Also, really proud of the stadium tonight. For the most part we had homefield advantage!!

He's the kind of player you hope we get each time they draft in the low rounds or sign an unknown young free agent. They don't pan out usually, but when they do, it's fun to appreciate what you got! :D

how about hayden? i thought he did a great job.

all around, the hustle was fantastic.

and how about romo not forcing throws, taking what the defense was giving him, putting his team in position to win?

Let's be honest. Aside from a handful of mistakes, we played excellent.

A few plays different, the score could've been 52-10.

Loved what I saw from Tyron and the o line in general. Loved seeing Selvie play at the same,or at least close to, the same level we saw in the Pre season. Huge props to Murray for not quitting on that pick and saving us 4 points. And to the D for holding them out of the end zone with first and goal from the one.Murray ran hard and punished the defenders when he could.
Most of all. Loved pulling out a win against a good team and division rival on opening night in front of all America!

+1 The left side of our line was awesome tonight, I thought! They stonewalled one of the best front 4's in the game. Replace Bernie and I think we have a top 10 if not top 5 line. LOVE our center. Did anyone else see Leary lift the guy across from him into the air and stop him in his tracks? Just wow! Last but not least..... 6 count em 6 turnovers. There's a tear in my eye right now :D

When we needed the defense to make a play in the 4th qtr they did...we are 1-0 against a divisional opponent...any win in the NFL these days is a good win...Turnovers were incredible, Witten was a beast, and this team just kept fighting...I'm okay with taking this season one week at a time...Nice win Cowboys!!!!

We established a physical attitude on both sides of the ball........we ran Murray 30 times at NYG best part of their defence, and wow did our defense swarm to the ball.....wait until we insert Waters at LG and Rat and Spencer into the DLine, maybe even a little Ceasar......with them in the rotation will give us the pressure to take it off the secondary.

I have heard the 16 take aways all last year and six in one game last night.

However here is another stat from last year vs last night...

Last year, the defense scored 3 TDs (one INT for a TD and two fumble recoveries for TDs)

Last night....the defense scored 2 TDs (one INT for a TD and one fumble recovery for TD)

Bottom line, we won and more importantly beat the Giants. Period
I will take that on opening night
Glad Romo is OK and that Dez is OK (from when his ankle rolled under him), I was really worried both times
Loved the way our DL played (without Rat and spencer) and tyron/fred on OL
6 defensive takeaways and some of htose were 'effort' takeaways ie stripping the ball, hits etc
Hopefully next week waters replaces bern and that helps the OL
Safety play is still a concern but hopefully that will get better with time as this is a new scheme

I am very pleased with the way the defense played, not just the turnovers. The defensive line deserves a huge game ball; those "backups" took it to the Giants. Selvie is not just a preseason star, this guy is a baller! Church looks like every bit the safety we hoped he'd become from the previous glimpses (great job of the front office getting him locked up while he was cheap). The gang tackling was remarkable, the guys looked fast, determined and relentless.

The offense settled down and found the end zone, the Oline has gone from weakness to strength and will only improve with the addition of Waters. Demarco Murray was everything we needed him to be, he caught hard for every inch, while protecting the ball...and the hustle on the Romo interception amplifies what I really loved from all three units, they played with a great amount of effort.

Special teams came to play and Harris was a beast. BTW Holloman found his way to the ball again.

I'll be back cause I'm oozing with positivity...1-0

I just wanted to quote this so more people can see it.

This is such a classic gif. It's right up there with the Colombo shot on Brandon Jacobs. lol

I'm happy with the win. Our D forced turnovers, the franchise QB was able to come back out and play and we won a tough divisional game. The team was sloppy but it was the first game of the season in a divisional game where all bets are off.

For those people who keep whining about how the team won't get six turnovers a game, the defense will also USUALLY call a timeout on that blown assignment and probably tighten up that PREVENT defense they were playing at the end of the game. Those two "drives" accounted for 14pts and almost 160yds worth of offense.
