All tight ends are injury prone.Overall, how it was handed was stupid.
An injury prone TE in the 2nd. Gads, I sure hope it's not back to the same ol' same ol'.

Kelce has missed one game since 2014, the year he started playing full time. All tight ends are injury prone.
I'm with ya big dog, I think Schoonmaker is just what we need at the TE spot. I'm just disappointed he's missing time with that foot ailment right now. I hope that clears up soon, we need him.Schoon is a better blocker and will be equal to Schultz receiving. He wasn't a reach at 58. Not at all. I'm glad they moved on from Schultz and that paycheck. Give me that rookie deal.
BTW the FO didn't feel like TE was a need. They wanted to improve the blocking. A chance to upgrade the blocking and replace Schultz fell into their laps.
Schoonmaker hasn't missed any.Kelce has missed one game since 2014, the year he started playing full time.
Gawd that was easy. Did you say that just to say it?
"Fell into the Cowboys lap"? No I wouldn't say that either, but I do believe Schoonmaker was a good pick and that the Cowboys had solid reasons to justify their decision. I just hope this foot ailment doesn't last too long, they need him.No rational person would say Schoonmaker fell into the Cowboys lap. He was a 3rd round pick at best who got pushed up because of the TE run.
He does nothing for me. He's just a guy.

Yeah, counting stats is generally not a great way to evaluate players.
Exactly. Somebody always throws that "reach" stuff out on the table if the Cowboys don't go with their own personal favorite. Everybody is an expert when it comes to the draft. They thought Tyler Smith was a reach as well and they were absolutely wrong.
I would have moved on from Dalton Shultz no matter who we drafted. The front office felt like TE was a need and couldn't risk waiting until round 3 to get the player they wanted.
Schoonmamer was considered a reach at 58 overall.
Had we kept Schultz for 1 year, we could've gone Torrence, Mims, Drew Sanders, Kendre Miller or a lot of other players.
Would you rather have kept Schultz and gone with a different pick at 58?
Or are you glad the front office moved on from Dalton and that savings of $9 million this year?
Some were pissed when they drafted Parsons.Exactly. Somebody always throws that "reach" stuff out on the table if the Cowboys don't go with their own personal favorite. Everybody is an expert when it comes to the draft.

He's what Bill Parcells was always looking for...to a T.I'm with ya big dog, I think Schoonmaker is just what we need at the TE spot. I'm just disappointed he's missing time with that foot ailment right now. I hope that clears up soon, we need him.
A good health plan will take care of it all.Looks like Kelce is injury prone.
This from the dude who COLDNT WAIT to post the “Million days since an NFC Championship!”. Lame. The front office felt like TE was a need and couldn't risk waiting until round 3 to get the player they wanted.

I've seen the Cowboys miss on some drafts and hit on some. If you pass on a guy that you really like because ESPN or whoever rates your guy as a 3rd or 4th rounder and then somebody grabs him in the 2nd after you just passed him up and the guy turns out to be an excellent player, welllllll, the ESPN 2nd guesser will probably have an excuse all ready to go.Just for fun, took a gander at a couple of predraft ratings for schooner. 104 and 96. 96 is late 3rd, 104 is 4th.
Randomly looked. Not hard to find that he was not rated a 2nd round talent.
Dallas Cowboys did. All that matters. Not hard to find that he was not rated a 2nd round talent.
you can count on 1 hand the number of TE in the entire league that have more yards, catches and TDs than Schultz had in the previous 3 seasons. You make it sound like we should be able to grab any TE coming out of JC and they will be able to just slide in and repeat those numbers since, afterall, hes just a decent receiving TE in a pass friendly offense.Schultz was a good receiving TE in a pass friendly offense. Doesn't make him a very good TE at all. If he was a very good TE, the Cowboys would have resigned him. If he was a very good TE, he would have got more than a one year deal in FA. After all he is only 26 and should be in his prime.
Well he would be, I mean that's not a lot of money.. however they had a plan, so since they had a plan he was not worth keeping for $9 millionOne dimensional tight ends are not worth 9m a year.
