The process that led to the Cowboys hiring Brian Schottenheimer

The Cowboys 2 wins are against teams with a combined one win between them. The Cowboys were completely outcoached by the Bucs just like they were against the Giants. For the life of me, I don't know how they were able to compete with the Ravens.
Would be interesting to normalize the current record by strength of schedule so far.
Spoiler - we suck more than our win/low record indicates.

False.

All those issues will be present in subsequent drives. You are asking for them to be an issue even more even going into overtime.

They just went 99 yards.

And there was no 2nd score so it never mattered anyway. The 2 pt try played zero role in the outcome. There is no guarantee in any scenario, but OBJECTIVELY, going for 2 there gives you the greatest chance.
I disagree. And it's just another example of this coach's in-game mis-management. But, in the end, the point is moot.

This will make you sick.

A reminder on the process that led to the Cowboys hiring Brian Schottenheimer:

- Dallas sent Mike McCarthy into lame duck 2024
- The season went predictably bad
- They missed the playoffs
- They spent the Wild Card Round doing nothing, going back and forth with him
- This made potentially interviewing top candidates at the time (Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn) impossible, literally
- Monday of the Wild Card Round they finally separated
- The first report of Schotty being connected to the job was because he was the betting favorite out of nowhere
- It was after that it was reported he was having an interview
- They announced him as the new head coach on a Friday night, very un-Cowboys

The whole thing was a mess and so of course here we are.

I would have just called Garrett, I'm sure he doesn't suck as bad as this azz.

If your goal is to "win now", then you don't bring in start-up coaches who haven't done the job before. Just saying.
They were never in "win now" mode. When they do reach that mode you'll know it because Jerry and Stephen are no longer involved in football operations.

McCarthy should have been fired the year before. Heck, bringing him in in the first place was stupid. It was clear his success was QB driven and he was more interested in getting massages during practice than coaching. just dumb. Worse than Schotty and IMO (YMMV) it's not even close.People criticize Schotty for his clock and game management (and rightly so the last couple of weeks) but McCarthy was just a buffoon in this respect. Dumbest coach I've seen try and figure our clock management and couldn't even understand the simplest use of TOs in those situations. Let's not forget how legendarily horrible he was at clock management and game management
