The proof is in the pudding VT was better than Bledsoe

Kurt Vollers is not even on the team this year. This would seem to suggest that the talent of Pettite is better then Vollers in BPs estimation.

In the long run, yes. This year, I'd have to agree that Vollers would have been the better option.

Why would you overload Adams when you can just as easily bring it from the other side? Bottom line, Pettite started all 16 games. While not great, he could not have been as bad as last year or we would have replaced him. All you have to do is look at what happened in 04 to confirm this. You don't sign guys one week and play them on Sunday unless your at your lowest point. I agree that RT was terrible this year but it was not as bad as last year.

Overloading blindside is a lot worse. Hard to anticipate the rush, resulting in more sacks and fumbles.

If Flozell doesn't get hurt I think Tucker would have replaced Pettiti at some point during this season. Maybe not permantly, but to at least change things up for the rookie. I always wondered why after Flozell was lost why the Cowboys plug in Tucker in at right tackle where he played last season and Pettiti at left tackle where he played in college. Seems as if you are going to let them suck, let them suck at something they are familiar with doing.

Exactly. The risk/reward factor in coming blindside is much greater than coming from the direction the QB can actually see you.

It does not make sense to go against your best OL when you can take complete advantage of a guy who is fresh off the bus. Besides, you don't have to hit Bledsoe from the blind side to make him fumble and everybody in the NFL knows this. You just have to hit him.

Makes no difference. I suppose we will have to agree to disagree on this point.

No, I think what you would have seen is Campbell shading RT 80% of the time. When Adams got hurt and Tucker had to play LT, the help for Pettite stoped almost immediatly. I think that if Pettite is able to enjoy the help of Campbell, he's viewed in a much different light right now.

The most effective pressure is the pressure that comes right up the middle.
