I have done the Low Carb diet and it was the one thing that melted off the fat. Once you hit ketosis, its been the fastest fat loss I've seen.

TRUTH.

Only downfall is you have to stay like that forever pretty much. Even if you start eating "healthy", once you've lost all the weight you want. You put it right back on or more. Im struggling with this.

I personally find any extreme diets terrible. You need to create an at least a somewhat healthy diet that you can live with and use that as a diet all the time and some include exercise.

I eat a lot of baked chicken spiced up several different ways, but I also eat pasta at least once a week and even pizza if I really feel like it.

Once I month I will have something what amounts to a butterfinger blizzard, though I don't eat the entire thing. It's from a place called Carvel here in the NE and the small one has about 900 calories, but I eat probably 500-600 of it. (even the small is rather large, can't figure out how people eat the larger ones)

Besides my morning coffee I almost exclusively drink water. My wife can't do that, so she drinks a lot of that PowerAid Zero sports drink instead. Soft drinks are an absolute no-no. They are 100% empty calories. (non-diet that is, though none are good for you) Those vitamin waters and such are garbage too. Most of the original ones were loaded with sugar and were a complete scam.

Empty calorie items such as soft drinks, ice cream, candy, etc should be limited to maybe once a month, twice a month at max. There are other options out there to help curb the need for sweets that aren't as bad. (my wife eats twizzlers)

Fried foods are murder too, but you don't have to complete knock them out either, but just like empty calories, I would limit them to once or twice a month max.

I'm on week 7 of p90x, doing good so far. I'm actually trying to gain weight/muscle, not lose it. I've gained almost 10 lbs so far.

The workouts aren't so bad for me, it's having to constantly be thinking about eating good calories all day, everyday that's hard.

I used to just skip breakfast so I could get that extra bit of sleep before work, can't do that anymore.

I do feel much better though, I don't start fighting to stay awake around 4 anymore.

pretty funny TC..I too am on week 7 of P90x....I never really weight trained prior to this, so the added muscle weight and definition is definitely a plus...I am not going to lie though, being 7 weeks in, it is definitely starting to take a toll..

Yeah, I hear you. Some days I want to do anything BUT put that video on.

I'm doing it with my fiance though, so we kind of help motivate each other on days where we'd prefer to be lazy. Doing it with someone really does help. I'm sure if not for her, I'd have taken plenty of days off or stopped altogether.

I've lost the fat and kept it off. Fat won't accumulate back on your body if you adjust your eating habits. Ketosis uses the fat stores on your body for energy and it won't put more on after you cease the diet. Any time you start putting fat back on, its due to consuming more calories than your body needs.

You don't add more weight back on because your body was on a keto diet! You might add it back on because your body wants to revert back to its original weight and return back to the former eating habits. Taking a human body and burning fat off of it in a keto state and then going off the keto diet and maintaining body weight/fat percentages through caloric intake and proper exercise, you wont ever go back to original weight.

And as soon as you suck down that first plate of pasta or sub sandwich, it'll be the fastest back on too.

Just count calories. It's the best way to go and doesn't limit your food options.

That's what I do!

Today, at lunch, when I ordered that 2nd helping of garlic-butter drenched french bread to help sop-up the gravy in my plate of shrimp etouffee, and got to 7548, I got tired and quit.

I went home and took a nap on a pool float.

I joined a Fitness Bootcamp led by an ex Sarge from the Army. We workout 3 times a week and I've been losing inches consistently. I love it cause it keeps me motivated..

Does getting up and going from the recliner to the fridge and back count as cardio? :)

Only if you do it more than 3 times a day. So if you drink more than 3 beers, make sure to make an extra trip for each one.

Not true. As a matter of fact, one cheat meal with as much as you can eat in an hour will still put you back into ketosis in a few hours. Your post has no logic to it.

In response to the above quote and to add to the Low-Carb discussion

http://www.phlaunt.com/lowcarb/19058097.php

"It is the drop in calorie intake that follows this drop in hunger that that results in the very real and often dramatic weight loss so many long-term low carbers report."

This quote is ridiculous. The reason why people on a keto diet lose weight is due to the body converting fat for its sole source of energy. You don't go into ups and downs as far as hunger goes due to the constant energy source from fat but you still eat plenty.

I didn't need to lose any weight myself but rather wanted to shed excess fat. I still ate the same caloric intake but changed what I was eating. As long as I stayed between 30-60 grams of carbs per day, I could eat whatever I wanted as long as I did not push my body out of the ketosis state by consuming too many carbs at once.

Like I said in an earlier post, you can even eat a huge, cheat meal 1x per week as long as it is within an hour's period and you will NOT stay out of ketosis for very long. If you do get out of ketosis completely, it will take about a good 3 days to get back into it again. Once you have gotten to the weight you desire or body fat percentage, then its just a matter of maintaining that weight by proper exercise and food consumption.

That website is not completely factual by any means. I was on the keto diet for over three months and had plenty of food and have kept the fat off now for over two years.

always warmed up on a starir stepper bout 10 - 15 minutes
an rode bike at gym for the same amount
but I switch them up every other time

first 2 weeks three days about 2 hrs - every muscle group
tho for you younger guys there is a quicker recovery time

then next 2 weeks - -
1 day went to arms
2 day went with shoulders
3 day went with legs
every day I did my sit ups an the core exercises

after a month of getting used to lifting

I would break it down do more with each
Arms
