Like BP here, he never won more than 10 games in four seasons as coach.

He took over a worse team than the Cowboys and never led them to a 5-11 season, let alone three in a row.

What's it going to be then, eh?

So is anyone ready to trade Jerry for, Snyder, The Fords, or the owners of the Vikings, Rams, Cards, Bengals, Browns, Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers to name a few..... not me!

I would trade him for Pat Bowlen. Probably Clark Hunt too since he was smart enough to get Scott Pioli.

Well said. How any actual Cowboys fan can still defend the man is simply amazing. I really question who or what they are a fan of.

Don't stoop to their level of questioning their fandom. Its wrong for them to do it like Theogt did yesterday, and its wrong for you to do it.

He's really won so much more than them the last 13 years, hasn't he?

I am sure there are more, but this took just a couple of seconds.

Perhaps he is just repeating urban legend, but here you are.

22. Dallas Cowboys
David LaFleur, TE LSU

RB Duce Staley (3rd), South Carolina
Philadelphia Eagles

Troy Aikman hand picked LaFleur. Aikman may be a heck of an announcer, but he stunk as a player personnel man. The Cowboys were using Sherman Williams and a way over-the-hill Herschel Walker to backup Emmitt Smith and while Staley might not be able to stay healthy as a number one back, he'd sure have been a great help to keep the superstar fresh.

Thanks for the post. I've seen stuff like this, but never a quote from a Cowboys person that states, yes, they did this because Troy said so. I don't doubt the story, because I remember Aikman being fed up with all of the off-field issues after the 1996 season and even floating out thoughts of leaving Dallas unless Jerry agreed to work on changing the atmosphere.

LeFleur did ending up stinking pretty good (back issues did not help), so I would never doubt the "bust" label.
