The Roger Staubach says it's time for Jerry to step down

I was promised Jerry had the brain of 40 year old. Surely that's all it takes to be a successful GM.

In 1985 I would hope ever day that Landry would step down and cede his place to a younger, more innovative coach. Didn't happen. Now I find myself hoping jerra will step down. Won't happen.

None of mein dreams are coming true. Jet packs, world peace. A Spike Lee movie that did not suck. Nothing comes true!

Am I doomed to see .500 Cowboy teams for the next 15 or so years?

What's weird is that nobody would criticize Jerry for doing this - if the man took a step back and hired a GM, he would instantly become the most beloved owner in all of the NFL.

Everyone thinks he's a great owner - and an awful GM. I know he feels like the team is his toy to play with, and I get it, but...I mean, isn't he just as sick of this nonsense as we are? I can't see how he isn't.

For the love of all that is holy, people, it is Roger, not Rodger.

Please spell the greatest Cowboy of all time's name correctly.

Thank you.

And I won't be surprised when you inform us Garrett is number two on your list...

There are none so blind and those who will not see.

do you think a man who moved the celebration and acknowledgement of the 50th yr anniversary of the club BACK one year so that he did not interfere with the opening of his cathedral gives a damn about any opinions from legends that played here before he purchased the team?

do we start seeing the "FIRE YOURSELF JERRY" signs in the stand at home games now? (ala Matt Millen in Detroit)

I suggested that we fly planes overhead with banners all day, everyday until he is forced to change. But, Jerry might be one step ahead of us and already hired Seal Team Six to patrol the top of the TV with RPG 7's

I'm not sure Jerry realizes there were 2 Super Bowl winners prior to his ownership. As far as Jed Clampett is concerned, Cowboys history began Feb. 25, 1989.

It's one thing if you say it, or I say it, or some blowhard in the media says it.

It's quite another if the most respected living icon in Cowboys history says it.

Now, we need Emmitt, Aikman, Lilly, Irvin, Jimmy, Woodson, Moose, Bates, etc, to join Staubach.

That's the only place any meaningful momentum can come from.

Well there you go. I think this kind of pressure on Jones seals Garrett's fate if the Cowboys don't make the playoffs.

I agree. It's the only way it will ever happen.

Roger didn't play for Jerry, and while he has been treated well by Jerry I don't think he can sting Jerry like one of his boys can. I can't really see any scenario where that happens. All the former players love Jerry.

While I agree with that from a level that Jerry doesn't quite have the respect for players before his era, Roger is the exception. Not only from his ability and accolades as a player, but Roger's overwhelming success as a business man.
