Thanks Roger. This needed to be said and needs to happen. I think with enough pressure on Jerry, he'll either turn things over to Stephen, or he'll hire a GM and fade away. I see this happening soon.

do you think a man who moved the celebration and acknowledgement of the 50th yr anniversary of the club BACK one year so that he did not interfere with the opening of his cathedral gives a damn about any opinions from legends that played here before he purchased the team?

Yes. The one thing Jerry fears more than anything is continued bad publicity. It hurts the bottom line which is all he cares about. Wrap all this get rid of Jerry talk around a financial burden and he'll be starting those talks with Stephen.

What has happened in the last few weeks, months, or years to give you this impression?

And why do you think Stephen would be any better?

Exactly, and even after he's gone, I don't see things being much better under Jr. That's why I say our only hope is if Jerry moves the team, leaving the name and logo to the city so Dallas can start over as an expansion franchise.

Yeah I'm sure Jerry is going to move one of the most financially successful franchises on the planet to another city just a couple years after building a new 1 billion dollar stadium.

Nice that Roger decided to say this now.... about 10 years too late.

Thank you Perry for summing up so many others thoughts on this startling revelation.

Rog, I watched every play when you led this team and loved every minute of it. But where have you been for so long when this team has been falling apart at the seams?

Well played, Perry.

I just hope that Roger doesn't say that on this website or he will be labeled a "troll"!

I guess I don't get what's so "absurd" about that comment, not trying to be funny I really don't understand.

If you don't see how ridiculous that is then I don't know how to explain it to you. There is nothing wrong with making negative comments esp if you explain yourself rationally and logically. Posting negative one liners in every thread you can infect is not good for the site. Wouldn't you agree?

It's the internet. Negative one liners devoid of rationality or logic is why Al Gore invented the darn thing.

I don't know the poster's history but I do know that our legends ala Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt, Dorsett, and Roger have been ripped on this site to prop up our current "stars". Again, I'm not trying to pick a fight but where was all this outrage when some here try to tear down what Aikman and Staubach accomplished to prop up Romo?

I'm holding out hope that when the day
comes that Jerry is no longer in charge, Stephen will bring in someone as gm not named jones.
I am also holding out hope that researchers will discover eating pecan pie actually makes you smarter and better looking.

For the love of all that is holy, people, it is Roger, not Rodger.

Please spell the greatest Cowboy of all time's name correctly.

Thank you.

....or "Roger The Dodger", if you're nasty!

A one liner or five is fine. We all do one liners and most of those are ok. Once again, it is the constant barrage of those negative and at times not so nice remarks that cause problems. Beside derailing threads it annoys the hell out of people.

PS: that was funny and the remarks I made are for the benefit of all not just you.

I am sorry to say if we had Tex Schramm as GM and Opie as HC then the results would still be the same. I know Tex would not be so stupid to hire Opie because only Jerry would hire Opie. Furthermore, Roger should state that the HC is the problem as well. It is obvious that Opie is not the "Next Tom Laundry". Roger should state his views on the entire organization from Top to bottom.

Uhh, except for the GMs of the Ravens and the Falcons. But I guess they aren't 'real football professionals', eh?

The more people will call him out to do this, the more he will dig himself in.

Jones will not cede authority until either his bottom line takes a huge hit, he becomes incapacitated or he passes away. His ego will not allow himself to walk away.

That doesn't really matter to me. If he is intent on holding this franchise hostage as his own personal play toy, he should do it as the most hated man in Texas. He should be constantly bombarded with questions about it. Everywhere he turns, media, former players, fans....he should be forced to defend himself. He should fear for his own safety around our fan base. He's gotten off far too easily over the years. He'd have been lynched in Philly by now, not have his name chanted in camp every year.

Same goes for little Stevey. Who cares if they get upset? Keep pounding them with questions. Screw these guys.

There's no question in my mind that Garrett would do better in a sane football environment with real personnel people in place. What coach wouldn't?

Sean Payton was a poor coach here too. Then he went to the Saints, who didn't have a Jerry, and showed what he is capable of.

At some point coaches have to stop being blamed.
