RW has lost his nerve. He looks more like he's playing flag football out there.

Hamlin was the only DB not afraid to stick somebody out there.

He was either invisible or making negative plays. What happened to "losing weight and playing near the line of scrimmage"? Wasn't that the plan? Wade was brought in to do one thing: fix the defense. Tonight was an eerie reminder of 2006, but a win's a win.

I doubt anyone wants him and his overblown contract....not sure what the cap hit would be, but cutting him after the season should be explored..

He doesn't even hit hard anymore, not to mention being the worst cover safety in the NFL. Are we keeping him just because of his contract ? Okay, than bench him.
Congratulations!! You win the Dumbest Post of the Day award!!

Now I disagree there. Strong safeties aren't supposed to be strong in coverage. He's sub-par there for the position, I'll give you that, but look at the players around him. Reeves should have bumped Plax at the line on that in-route he scored on in the 4th. Roy undercompensated, but give him a break.

He helps more than he hurts. There's no question. But the inadequacy all around him in the secondary has made his problems quite a bit more pronounced. Hamlin wasn't helping much either.

I hope idiots don't vote him for the pro-bowl again unless his performances take a sharp upturn.

ever since they neutered him with that ridiculous horse collar crap he hasn't been the same ol roy. he needs to go back and be agresive again. its like he´s thinking instead of reacting.
That's an interesting angle. I hadn't thought of it that way. Whatever it is, he needs to get back to guy we saw his rookie year. He was a playmaker. Tonight, every time he blitzed, it was picked up. He was never a threat near the line of scrimmage.

And guys you know the reason why he was more feared earlier this decade.

Because we could afford to put him in those situations because we could put pressure on the QB consistantly and put him in situations where he was in better coverage need also. Since going to this 3-4 he's never been in the same sitations as often as he was before. Even the first year or two under Parcells when we ran the 4-3 he was still making plays more often. I think it may be more on switching to the 3-4 then anything. We don't have the linemen and LBs that can run the 3-4 effectively enough to put our DBs in good situations.

Roy led the team tonight in tackles with 8 tackles, all of them solo tackles. He also had a nice hit that broke up a pass. He also saved that first down at the end. Was it a great game? No. But he was nowhere near invisible. The problem is, we are used to Roy lighting people up every week and being the #1 spot on Jacked Up. When Newman returns, and they actually use Roy like they were planning on using him, I think a lot of you guys will be singing a different tune. Roy has made four straight Pro Bowls. You can't do that by being "the worst safety in the world."
