Anything can happen, sure.

But the idea that a team that went 12-5 three years in a row is just all of a sudden going to collapse isn't just illogical, it's stupid. It's not based on anything.
I don’t necessarily agree this team is going to collapse . I’m more in the wait and see mode. But there is some concerns that fans could base their thoughts on.

Like HC being a Lame Duck. The fact we lost several starters in FA. And the uncertainty our draft and previous drafts developments will take the next step.

And that doesn’t take into account if we get Dak and CD signed. And the ramifications if we don’t .

We all should know each season is on its own merit . There’s much reason to believe this years team isn’t as talented. And as always anything is possible . But there certainly is enough to base these concerns on.

We DID completely collapse the last game of the season. And we are a worse team now. But, okay...we gonna be great.

You are wrong.

The Cowboys' model is draft and develop. It's why they don't spend in FA and completely contradicts the "one season at a time" idea you're referring to. Jerry doing marketing work doesn't change that.
All 32 teams draft and develop. Even when the Rams were (actually) going “all-in” and trading high picks for proven players they were still focusing on and nailing their mid round picks.

The Cowboys sit out of free agency because they are bad at it. Jerry was reckless and threw money around; Stephen is terrible if not incompetent at contract negotiations.

You're leaving out the possibility of the script being written by the NFL based upon what they feel needs to happen.
That scares me the most, that if "America's Team" is in danger of losing that moniker, how would the NFL react, seeing as it has lived off of the coat tails of the Cowboys franchise for decades.
What would they do if their "golden goose" was in danger?
The storyline for the Cowboys winning in a year in which most had given them up for dead might be very profitable- and it might breathe new life into their "golden goose".
:lmao: :lmao: I swear you just can’t make this stuff up!

Who says the Cowboys are a worse team now? SAS? Colin Cowturd? Fish bait? Some yahoo on ESPN? Some washed up coach trying to make a dollar? Who?

Good. Texans fans are already planning to takeover our stadium. They smell blood. This season is going to have a lot of embarrassing moments. One side story will be the invasion of Houston fans for that game.
You can hope and wish that happens. Your choice You’ve made.

How about anyone with some sense? Our running game did not get better with an over the hill Zeke, we lost some serviceable rotation players on the Dline in Armstrong, Fowler, and Williams.

Our DT situation is a hope and prayer situation.

Linebackers are question marks, besidesParsons. The secondary is the strength of the D.

Oline is question mark
Also the HC and DC being on one year deals doesn't help anything

Thanks Pollyanna for setting the record straight keep selling sunshine and lollipops all is well in Cowboys land and we should be happy with all that success the last 28 years, you’re all in again drinking Jerry’s kool-aid can’t wait for the season end melt down you do every season ending choke job
Why watch or follow the team if you feel this negative? Why torment yourself and try to make it unpleasant for everyone else trying to find some positivity and hope?

The foul stench of the worse loss in Cowboys history has not worn off a bit. January's emasculation at the hands of the fledging Packers took a toll not seen around here before. Green Bay had no prospects as the proverbial sacrificial lamb, but instead left with all the women and fine china, laughing their way home after slapping Cowboys' manhood around for three epically long hours.

There's now no pretending left to do. This season feels like an arranged marriage to the fat girl.

Sure, it's sports, and lightning in a bottle and any given Sunday and all of that. But far too many seasons of kerplunk after kersplat have rusted away the spirit of the most ardent of optimists surrounding this rented mule. There's zero anticipation outside of just guessing how the car crash will happen in 2024.

Camp is lifeless with few spectators. The coach is a lame duck. The depth is gone. The quarterback is begging for more money. The owner looks cryptic and delusional. The star players are barking and holding out. This is a dumpster full of gasoline waiting for a spark. This ain't the formula, and everybody knows.

Our hillbilly brass clearly knows and doesn't care because the coffers are full and the tickets are bought. They certainly don't believe in their roster because they sat the offseason out entirely, even more than usual. Didn't sign anyone and let most of what they had go. They've accepted their fate and hunkered down, knowing there are gonna be a lotta road games at home as season ticket holders are flooding their tickets into the after-market.

Never have I seen it this depressing. The ending is already written. Even during the Campo years and that long stretch of Quincy/Henson/Chutch nonsense we suffered through was more intriguing than this. Probably because meaningful winning wasn't so long ago back then.

Can they win some games? Perhaps, because this is the NFL of today, and most teams are pretty bad. Can they make the playoffs? Not likely, but maybe because it's just a shoddy league. But beyond that, there's nothing.

This feels like a 7-10 team with nothing to look forward to. And that's a bad place to be.
So, pretty much you're not watching this season, huh?

The other 31 teams don’t live “off of the coat tails of the Cowboys franchise”. The league could dump any team(s) and there would be groups anxious to pay the remaining owners billions for a new franchise. The Dallas Cowboys are just another NFL franchise. The notion that the league manipulates the outcome of games is nonsense, as well.

I'm not buying that at all. In fact, I can name many positions the Cowboys are the same or better off now than six months ago.
After all of the starters we let go in FA it’s arguably undetermined if our draft and or developing prior draft picks will be better, the same or worse.

But until we see Id argue it’s fair determination we aren’t as talented based on what we know from last year. We shall see.

Right. This diehardfan hasn’t missed a game since at least 1964. An apathetic highly critical fan doesn’t mean fairweather. But typical troll like behavior attempting to discredit those opinions which contrary to theirs.

I enjoy every game win or lose, the outcome has no effect on me or my life, it’s entertainment you just don’t like my opinion and think only yours is valid, funny how everyday years ago you never had a positive thing to say because of your hatred against certain players. Funny how it works with you, maybe you need to disappear for a few months and reevaluate yourself and focus on yourself the hate is eating you up

That's hilarious because even though I've been a member since 2011, I never really started posting until 2016 when Dak took over your boy. I've been nothing but positive. It's posters like you who have been nothing but negative.
