How can we call it a true test with a injured offensive line??

If our line was healthy, we could get a real measurement of who we are, but we won't truly know that using backups and limping starters up front vs the 49ers and other tough defenses until we're healthy.
Our starting offensive line has never played a game together. Not one.

All teams are injured. That's always the lament of losers

This will be a big test, no doubt. But, there are also a lot of games left, and we are not at the trade deadline. So, if there is any clear weakness that we find, we will have time (including the bye after the Chargers game) to trade someone in to try to fill that hole. I think 4-2 at the bye is reasonable. I'd love for us to win this game. However, if we lose, I'm hoping that we keep it close to where it's like, at least we weren't that far off, and we are likely to see them again this season. So, it'll be good to find where more trades might be needed.

I loved what Colin Cowherd said in his Fox ads over the weekend . “ I’m right most of the time . And when I’m not have excuses”. Typical.. lol

Disagree. Home field is at stake here essentially.

The same can be said for the iggles and SF. They haven't played any playoff contenders.

DAL defense has more than enough to defeat both teams. Let's see if Dak is up to the task.

To be fair there are those who use wins and losses to prop up their narratives and agendas depending on their perspective.

This stretch with our two top NFC opponents upcoming is a good test and measurement in first half of season.

And I wouldn't say it means little as divisional and conference tiebreakers could be in play. Besides these tiebreaker implications they all tally up the same .

But how we fare in these key matchups does provide ammo for both sides of the argument. Which is all part of the discussion . Afterall this is what these forums and social media is mostly based on.

It’s why our owner is already out in front stating he thinks we can stay on the field with SF meaning a strong performance even in a loss could be some type of moral victory which punctuates how games like these do drive the vibe on both sides of the argument.

Some fans don’t like that vibe as it can be too negative or and if we win the other side will say it’s too early to be too positive . Again, this is all part of the debate and discussion. Promoting moral victories is an attempt to control or at least buffer the narrative. So these agendas are on both sides of the argument .
Im talking about HIS agenda specifically.

I agree, and I made that point the other day on a different thread. I'm just saying that the season's not lost should we lose this game. It would suck to have to go back there for a playoff game, but at least we are at a spot where, if any weakness is found, the FO has ample time to find a solution.

Not if you're supposed to be a contender for a national championship.
Last year, Troy finished the season ranked No. 19 in the AP Top 25 and No. 20 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

What about the Egirls game which is part of this stretch. You don’t view as similar importance to SF?

And I didn’t interpret meaning of OP to state wins against LA teams were more valuable wins than our early opponents except they are better teams so a more valuable measure.
"Better teams" based on what?

The LA teams are both 2-2, the NY teams are both 1-3 because we beat them... had they beaten us, they'd both be 2-2, just like the LA teams.

4 games into a season and the guy who's never heard of Jordan Love wants to tell us which teams are good and which ones suck?

Yeah, I don't think so.

He has an agenda which includes diminishing the team's early success. Ask him his opinion of Dak and that agenda becomes crystal clear.

SF is just the next team on the schedule. It is not a test of any kind. There are many more games after this one where anything can happen. Rather we win or lose.

The Citadel, Troy, McNeese State, and Rice are behind us. Still can't believe we lost to McNeese State.

Now come teams that actually matter. San Fran, then the two LA teams split by a bye, followed by the Eagles.

The litmus test is nigh upon us. Are we legit, or just the same annual wannabe fraud?

This will be a pretty clear glimpse of what this team really is. Really looking forward to finding out.

4-0 = we're Super Bowl contenders
3-1 = close to the same as long as that loss is competitive and close
2-2 = probably the same team as last year
1-3 = we're too flawed to matter
0-4 = get ready to tear this roster down in the offseason
Such a naive and totally void of factual info. There are no Citatdels, Troys and McNeese States in the NFL. With the salary cap, every team is similar in talent And can beat you on any given day like Arizona did.

Why are we not a test for SF. Since they really have not played anyone much better than the teams we played.
Because they beat us the past two playoff games, while we looked horrible on offense.

You know, like we do every time we play good teams in meaningful games.

1 and 2 years ago. I don't live in the past for a game yet to be played.
We will win or lose. As I said, they are the next team on the schedule and early in the season.

They can lose, but if they get smoked, that'll be the beginning of the end.
