I never said San Francisco was going to smoke us. I was responding to the comment made by the other poster who said if they did smoke us that it would be the beginning of the end. I’m just saying IF they smoked us, it would be tough to rebound against the Chargers on the road. I think the game will be competitive against San Francisco unless the Cowboys turn the ball over or we run into the same problem against the run that we did against the Cardinals. You’re not giving the Chargers enough credit. You don’t seem to think they’re going to contend but they’re currently 2-2 and their only two losses were by a combined total of five points. That’s going to be a tough game even if we beat San Francisco.
Playing at LAC could be a lot of Dallas fans there. But the same was for at Arizona as well. Lot of good that did them. :laugh:
Will be curious to see how many fans at the SF game. Probably not a lot.

We'll be there in bunches, and we'll be loud. Cali Cowboys fans always show out.

No, I’m just saying that’s one contributing factor. Not all.

Here again you’re attempting to nick pick one game or opponent instead of the overall theme here.

I’ll ask again, do you believe this 4 game stretch is tougher opponents than our first 4?

Once we establish the basis of this then we can begin to dissect other factors..
SF and Philly? Yes, of course.

Chargers and Rams? No, as of now they're nothing special and beating them isn't any more impressive than beating the Jets, Giants or Pats.

There definitely will not be as many in SF but regardless the venue Cowboy fans are everywhere. Even in NY there was a pretty good turnout.

But regardless it’s never enough turnout on the road to totally takeover the home crowd. It’s just more deafening if we can silence them.

The fact SF and Phil are tougher make this 4 game stretch tougher all on their own.

The LA teams are more up for debate but I think most , at least based on what we’ve seen thus far , would rate them a little tougher matchup. If nothing else because of their QB’s.

This game could decide home field in the playoffs. This would be a good season to have a home playoff game the Cowboys have won 10 straight at home dating back to last season. I wouldn’t want to go back to San Francisco in January.

You say that's the lament of losers.... but remind me of the biggest reason it was said that the Chiefs loss the Superbowl?? So is it an excuse that Mahomes ran for his life that whole game?

Ok yeah.... thats what I thought...

And if it's a lament for losers.... why don't every team start more backup offensive linemen?? There's no difference according to your lil logic, correct?
Almost every team does. You think we're the only team with hurt linemen? Teams that constantly cry about their injuries are losers.

And teams in Super Bowls are not losers.

And teams that can’t get past the divisional games are called participants……

All I'm saying is, this is NOT a true test of what we can be vs a great and healthy 49ers squad. If you don't know the difference, then I don't know what to tell you.

And the Superbowl team that doesn't win, ARE the losers.

While this game or 4 game stretch isn’t the full definition of what this season could become even if we ever are completely healthy it definitely should provide the opportunity for a clearer picture and at least a better test of competition than we have faced thus far.

As far as being a 100% healthy , I’m not sure that’s ever a realistic proposition. There’s usually lingering injuries throughout the season. No doubt though injuries do impact.

Im not sure why some fans are worried about using these games as a better measurement of where this team is than our first four games ? But surely most would agree the stiffer competition should be a stronger test of where this team is heading into second half of season.

Dallas shown they can contend with any team. So why are so many of our fans afraid. Yes a tough stretch coming up. But maybe their fans are saying, wow we got Dallas coming up, how do we deal with that defense.
Dallas has shown the exact opposite of contending with any team. What have you been watching? They just beat up the nobodies early in seasons.

They have to change that.

This offensive line has NEVER played a game together.

If that is required, then the season is already over Brevard that won't happen through the playoffs.

Of course you see it that way. I don’t.

And you make my point. We have yet to field our best offensive line group to see where we truly are.

Unfortunately we might not be able to . At least for any extended time. But we knew coming into this season that the health of our OL was a major concern .

We might need to evaluate how it’s going to look and perform without its complete cohesiveness throughout as that might ultimately be who we are.

And if it becomes a major factor in lessening the effectiveness and production of this offense not meeting it’s full potential then we can hold our front office at least partially responsible as many of us warned of these concerns.

The Citadel, Troy, McNeese State, and Rice are behind us. Still can't believe we lost to McNeese State.

Now come teams that actually matter. San Fran, then the two LA teams split by a bye, followed by the Eagles.

The litmus test is nigh upon us. Are we legit, or just the same annual wannabe fraud?

This will be a pretty clear glimpse of what this team really is. Really looking forward to finding out.

4-0 = we're Super Bowl contenders
3-1 = close to the same as long as that loss is competitive and close
2-2 = probably the same team as last year
1-3 = we're too flawed to matter
0-4 = get ready to tear this roster down in the offseason
It really depends on how the year progresses from there. Going 2-2 may not mean anything more than going 4-0 other than we're competitive right now. Injuries, player development, etc., will determine if we are the same team at the end of the year as we are during this stretch.

Obviously, 1-3 or 0-4 would severely damage any shot we have of winning the division and 2-2 might knock us out of home-field advantage opportunities, but that's all that's really on the line right now.

I think a loss for us on Sunday night and self doubt starts creeping in. I think if SF loses and they just shrug it off. In other words its a bigger game and measuring stick for the Cowboys than SF.
I'm not sure it does. The players understand better than we do that this is just the fifth game of a 17-game season.

The closing 4 games is likely the more difficult stretch. 3 of 4 on the road against teams likely with something to play for.

@Buff
@Miami
Det
@Was
And it will probably be the more telling stretch. If we are going to make any noise in the playoffs, we probably need to at least go 3-1 during that stretch.

The players on this team know their consistent failures more than anyone. They choke when it matters. Or at least their QB does, and that truth has to be exercised.

Until they get over this hump, their reputation remains their reality.

Come playoff time, you won't have it. So what is the point of that?

Multiple starters will likely be lost for the season.

That is football. Doesn't affect the Eagles, but it sends Dallas into a tailspin
