The Sky is Falling or Crying

Jason needs to be relegated to pep squad. I love Witten—Everything he’s done and stands for, but we need a Kelce/Gronk type TE that can break a tackle.
I agree with you but I'm not in a hurry to run off one of this teams most reliable offensive weapons.

We will have the same staff next year as this year....nothing will change. If there were to change, Jerry would only hire someone who has some sort of connection to the Cowboys coaching staffs from the early 90s. Someone who runs the same Norv Turner offense. We would be no better than we are right now. Besides, our next coach is already on the staff....and his name is Scott Linehan....I think he's a disciple of Norv Turner...I think..I could be wrong.

I agree this coaching staff isn't going anywhere for at least another year when both coor contracts expire. Amazing we can't find a way to carry the momentum of killer seasons from on to the next ( 2014 13-3 killer followed by 2015 4-12 followed 2016 12-4 ) Seem we always find a way destroy the momentum of a good season. 2015 we gutted the running refusing to replace DeMarco Murray with a quality coz FO was sold on Randell. Never mine he led in NFL in rushing but Stephen Jones was on the decline. But wait, we tried to resign after he was cut by the Eagles. In fact, the deal was all set for his return until Titans jump in and offered more money. 2016 we go 12-4 ....maybe just a couple QUALITY players away from serious Super Bowl run. What we do....didn't see Free retirement coming. Let Leary walk, Collins to RT, and entrust Leary's position with a player who's never played G and history of being injury prone. My point is this ......if you're lucky enough to put a top three unit together ( OL, DL, running or passing game ), please leave it alone. Let it be your bread and butter.

No question, after last season, we should have hit the ground running.......to me, that's coaching not having a pulse/read on his team.

I also agree we have do a better job in free agency than adding a couple hundred bottom feeders rather than 2 or 3 quality players that can play at high level.

I'd clean the house. Trade some injure-prone veterans and get bunch draft picks. Hire Harbaugh who knows college atheletes to rebuild.

Anything that doesn't include a complete change of coaches is a waste of time in my opinion.

It won't change anything.

This is a pattern. Had a good regular season then fall short in play off, follow with an off season with tons of drama. Next season, injuries, chokes, you name it.

I mean this isn't on Zeke. Morris averaged Morrie yards per carry last night than Zeke has on the season and he did that without Tyron (no he isn't better but this is proof that our running game will be fine).

This isn't just about losing Zeke. This is about losing your 3 best players at once. What team in the NFL can lose their TOP 3 players and not miss a beat. Not an important player. Not a guy you'd like to keep. But your THREE best players.

This is an excuse. It's also the truth.

I rarely agree with anything you say, but this has merit. I'm not sure you can say our 3 BEST/Most Important players but they are all three critical players. Losing Dak might be worse than those three, but other than that, it is spot on. Lawrence and Martin and Frederick are in the discussion as well.

The needs of the Cowboys are too great to be filled by the 2018 draft and Stephen Jones is too cheap to get involved in free agency in any meaningful way. The talent of several of their current young prospects will be wasted just as it was this year and the Cowboys will continue to flounder. Enjoy your mediocrity for years to come.

It's chair shuffling on the deck of the Titanic.

You are just wasting another year on this staff.

Better yet let's remove some of the life boats so they don't clutter the deck. This ship is unsinkable.

Agreed but when you play well in the first half and get blown out in the second it's coaching and I think Rod might "retire"

To win in this league, you need a good HC, an Elite QB and an average defense.

IMO, we have zero out of 3. Can Dak be elite? Maybe. But he's too erratic at this point in his career.

Is it too much to ask the team to score ONE TD? Just want to make sure it is not to burdensome on these multi million dollar coaches and healthy players to request that

A. If your QB is not one of your three best players, you got a major problem

B. Sean Lee has missed 41 games since being drafted, so lets not act surprised that he is hurt, he is hurt almost every dam year. The team should have been prepared to play some games without him and if the defense is non-competitive without one single player, than it was an epic fail in roster building.

C. Coaching matters, and even my friend Idgit concedes that Garrett is not a good game day head coach. He makes very few adjustments, still struggles at times with clock management, and doesn't think through situations very well. For example, not burning enough clock against the Packers. And I am not talking about not going for the TD, what I am talking about is getting everybody on the same page and playing smartly. When Dak snapped the ball and ran in the TD for the lead, there were 14 seconds left on the play clock when the ball was snapped that could have been burned down to 1 or 2. Don't think it matters that much? When the Packers scored their winning TD there was 7 seconds left on the clock. If we would have burned those 14 seconds down we probably would have won the game............That is on coaching, and yes it matters.

jones needs to be moved back to corner and have woods play free safety. woods is not a run stuffing safety. we need to get another barry church safety in the defense again. I also agree we need a legit one tech defensive tackle.
