The sky isn't falling. We don't suck. Playoffs are still likely.

Oh yeah, thats what I want, evidence we can go 2-2 and set ourselves up for another nice 1 and done...yeah real encouraging.

Sadly thats what this team and a large part of the posters on here have become, ok with mediocrity.
I'm not settling for that. I'm just saying that's the minimum to get in the postseason.

Oh, I beg to differ.

The way they lost this game shows they still lack the ability to make the big play when it counts the most...or NOT make a big mistake when it hurts the most.

That's what was most disturbing about this game...and why it's going to leave a lot of fans with a very pessimistic view toward the rest of the season...however long that might be.

Well said. I'd love to feel this team has turned the corner and things will be different this year. But, there are no facts to base that on.

Right now though, they do have 4 more games to prove they can get it done. But today they played probably the 2nd easiest team left on their schedule and we led 10-0 with less than 3:00 left in the half and still lost. Heck, they even lost the lead before halftime.

It just makes me sick. And after today I now need to buy a new computer monitor.

Nice deflection on me actually having a point.

You never really do have a point and if you were trying to make one you failed. What did 2-2 do for us those years?

Make your point off that.

Ah, ok. my mistake. I tell you what you have more optimism than I do. I have seen this show to many times in the past 10 years. I honestly thought coming into today (hell even at the end of the 1st half I thought it) that this December was going to be different. I don't think so anymore. I hope it is. But don't have much reason to think it will be. Tough schedule, reeling team, coach with a history of losing in December/January, team with that same history...Props to you guys that can keep it optimistic, I just don't see it right now.

My point is that if we go 2-2 we have a puncher's chance at the postseason. No more, no less. We have gone 2-2 to finish the season in recent history.

Don't try to extrapolate beyond that.

Well thats a week argument if you are going to use history because last season we went 1-3.

On top of being sunshine and flowers your one of those that are happy backing into the playoffs just as long as you can say you were there even though you never stood a chance.

Love it.

I've seen it as well and it will be tough, don't get me wrong.

What's mostly keeping me sane is how well Tony played today. If he plays anywhere around the level he played at today we will make the postseason and have a shot at winning a game. The defense has to play better.

Next Sunday vs San Diego is crucial. We lose then things get pretty dicey.

The difference between 1-3 and 2-2 is small.

If Tony plays at this level it may be enough to tip us to 2-2 or maybe even 3-1 and the division title

3-1 is possible but its going to take both sides playing every single game from here on out. It is so dang frustrating. We have seen how good this D can be, we have seen how good this O can be, shoot we have even seen how good the Oline can be, and we have even see a green pig fly when Garrett makes some pretty good play calls. Why can't they put it together? Why can't the O play good and the D play good in the same game? That would be a good starting point for the SD game. Solid on both ends of the ball. Cause even if we win against SD and our D plays like it did tonight things will not be looking good. Oh well, who knows.

The Defense got abused today and the running game was non existant. Dallas needed this game badly and New York punched them in the mouth. You cannot lose these type of games and expect to make the playoffs. New Orleans and San Diego are playing much better right now and Washington always plays Dallas tough. Dallas is 8-4 right now and they could easily be 8-6 in 2 weeks. Lets say they are 9-6 and are playing the Eagles for their playoff lives in the final game. Do you honestly expect this inconsistent team to show up.

I have an odd (is it really?) feeling the Chargers will be like the 05 game vs the Chiefs.

If we don't win the division, we are not making the playoffs. The Giants and the Packers both have the tie-breaker on us.

So the Packers are going to beat the Ravens, Steelers, and Cardinals? Pass that over here....

Not to mention that the Giants need to get by the Eagles, Skins, and Vikings....

Both teams are one win behind us, with the Packers having a chance to tie us tomorrow night. Our wiggle room just got extremely small with this loss today. I'll stand by my comment though: If we don't win the division we will not make the playoffs.

I'm also not saying the Packers will beat all those teams. Sadly, what I'm saying is that they don't have to beat all those teams. For while you mention who they play, and I'm not so sure why you hold those teams in such high regard, have you not seen our schedule? Our schedule is much tougher than theirs. I think they can beat any of those teams and you fail to mention that they also play Chicago and Seattle, two games they will be favored to win. If they win tomorrow, they will get to 10 wins: book it!

As for the Giants, who knows. What I do know is they also hold the tie breaker over us.

We go from 8-3 and now the playoffs are just LIKELY?? LOL!!!

That's great you have all this enthusiasm and rose colored glasses but sorry, I don't have a bit of faith in this team or staff when it comes to games where you need some balls to win. These games in December where playoffs and divisions are on the line and everyone needs wins, this team folds like a lawnchair.

We could finish 2-2 and still miss the playoffs. Still 9-7 is more likely with our schedule. At any rate, don't feel confident about a win and in scenario against Philly in the last game. Say what you want about Andy Reid, but I'd rather have him coaching in that scenario than Wade Failipps.

Vikings won't have crap to play for when they face the Giants. We would have been better off if they won tonight.
