I notice btw, many running backs crying foul right now about how they are being mistreated by either being tagged or low balled. I get it, but no one is making them suite up and play. They can sell insurance I guess if they don't like the money. Btw, they still get millions, and if tagged, they get it all guaranteed. Seems fair to me. The team is taking a risk as well.

If the NFL didn't collude as a matter of business practice I would agree but this is hardly free market.

Hope so.

But is seems like the OC isn't a good fit for a WC offense.

If anything, our OC has more in common with KMoore.
Schottenheimer is essentially the run coordinator, with Mike Solari hired as offensive line coach based off their success in Seattle. Mike is the pass coordinator and will mix more West Coast into what he keeps from the previous scheme.

Here's more on that pairing:

Solari later reunited with the Seahawks for the 2018 season, replacing a coach who had almost exclusively run a zone blocking scheme. His hiring coincided with new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who introduced a varied running scheme that relied on the multiple schemes that Solari has excelled in throughout his extensive career.

Drive on...drive on. Right now, with two Pro Bowl and and dominant guards - Martin and Smith.

yes and no. Nothin in this world is truly free market when u stop and think about it. Its the rigged system we reside in.I'd love10 mil guaranteed on a tag. Rather than 30k a year and being broke..These guys have a choice. Then again, I was never an elite athlete.

its a rich mans game/club and gets worse every year. Everyone involved is rich, including the players on some level.Good for the players btw. I applaud that. THAT SAID, how the heck can a guy complain about getting millions playing a KIDS GAME? Especially if its fully guaranteed? I can't get behind that thinking. Just my 2 cents.

What this team needs is an offensive coordinator that knows how to take pressure off of the QB and protecting him with a rock solid running game. Running the ball helps the defense too.
THIS in spades. Situational calls. Agree 1000%

I'm intrigued here. I'm really looking for some highlight reel stuff, but a whole lot o consistent points and a whole lot of yards passing from Dak Prescott.

I just hope we see:
- Screen plays that actually work

- A run scheme that opens up holes in the middle with sideways blocking
- Better play action
- Good safety valve routes for Dak so he doesn't have to force the ball or hold it when primary routes aren't there

But yeah, the basic principles of route running, 3,5 and 7 step drops, blocking, etc. don't change much across the league. What matters is how you use these concepts in combination which allows one person's west coast offense to look much different than another's.
I 100% agree with the red. Our screen plays have been terrible for years! play action has been too slow and Moore ran all those stupid hook routes and left Dak with no where to go far too often.

But with the bold, I feel that there is a good chance that they won't be doing nearly as much inside running without Zeke. I like Davis and I think he can be the inside pounder but if not, we don't really have anyone else who can.

This describes every QB to ever play, Mahomes is great, he would be ridiculous with a top run game. Literally it pulls defenders out of coverage less defenders in coverage easier open routes.

You've been to stadiums and watched the NFL. No child is going to play NFL running back. It is one of the most dangerous jobs in sports and all of their teammates are treated differently. When it comes to win shares and similar stats they are very impactful to win outcomes too.

I'd be pissed too.

Bill Parcells/Sean Payton was great at this here in Dallas when he had Carter, then Vinny,Romo. They get it. MM MUST be like this.
Exactly! Kyle Shanahan is doing it and so is the coach in Philly. McVay did it to the Cowboys a few years ago.

One player I'm hoping moves back up is Galloway and a dominant #3 role. Get back to where you were our friend. Make the Cowboys' receivers the very top of the NFL!
Galloway, you mean Gallop, lol , Galloway trade left a very bad taste in our mouths.

they CAN quit. Like all jobs/careers, they ALL have flaws. They can be pissed. I hate it that the rb position has been getting minimized every year, but in every line of work, u have the good and bad. I'd agree that the rb is much much more vital in winning and has always been a staple in the sport of football,at every level. If ya can't run, u wont win. I think the league should chill the heck out on pushing the rb position aside for glitz and glamour. Lastly, its not like they are heading for the welfare line and free cheese line. That whining is just absurd. Yes its risky, but it is their chosen profession. This isn't a labor camp. I think each side of the coin is a valid argument. The exception 2 the rule are guys like Derick Henry and Josh Jacobs. Those dudes might just have a better arguing position than the average rb. THEY are elite, but that isnt true across the board in the league. Henry and JJ should be rewarded handsomely because I feel they have much left in the tank. But I am fine with the way it is as long as they don't minimize the position any further. Its really a bad business model down the road and makes the league worse. I don't see Zeke paying back all that $ we gave him on his 2nd deal btw, when he underwhelmed over the last few years. That is the danger, giving a 2nd or 3rd big deal for a rb. MAYBE a special criteria and tier ..ie categ0ry needs to be created for the elites like JJ and Henry so guys like them can get elite money. That I would sign on for. They deserve it. I think much of the phasing out at rb is because of the networks wanting it. THE TV $ is driving this.

You mean they can retire but they don't have jobs because of collusion.

The NFL is not most industries. There is no comparable organization. It's not like they can leave Google and go work for Microsoft and certainly not at the market rate. They are a trust that is allowed to exist because of the CBA. They should not be allowed to collude but they do it systemically.

nuthin is fair man. I hope they have planned their futures well and saved. Teams don't have to be held at gunpoint and forced into hiring guys . Its a unique business yes, but can fire "retire" whom they choose. Collusion is filthy but it happens in every league, better believe that. Im not saying I like it, but its a fact. Henry wont have any trouble getting a job in this league if he has 2 switch teams, same with JJ. But the average rb will struggle.

What does fair have to do with anything? I am talking about rule of law.
