Or am I missing something?

Who exactly am I supposedly being a jerk to? ROY? I don't think he cares.

Why aren't you calling out the other poster for questioning people's fan credentials just because they won't acknowledge Roy as some sort of great contributor to the Cowboys legacy?

I'll definitely miss Roy Williams.
Watching him early in his career was awesome. I used to watch that tek2000 video before every game. I remember watching that Eagles/Cowboys game at my church then leaving at the end of the 3rd quarter. I saw a guy at wawa, I had my Cowboys jersey, he had his Eagles jersey and he just kind of mockingly laughed. I just said "Hey, you never know, games not over." When Roy intercepted that pass and took it to the house...that's probably my favorite Cowboys play ever. Definitely loved him during the good times, and he'll be missed.

Thanks to the Good Roy Williams who played hard, made plays and gave us a lot of BOOM.

Sorry the Good Roy hasn't been seen in a long time. Maybe you can bring him back somehow. Hope it's in the AFC, LOL.

spoken for Roy's friends & family:

THANK YOU FOR GRABBIN' ALL THAT MONEY OF JERRUH'S ROY.

Maybe this: "Do the math on all other safeties in the NFL and compare their numbers to Roy's before you spew out your ignorance"

Sort of a respect thing, or lack there of. You just reminded me of this idiotic statement you made about an analysis of Roy when you admonished the guy on this thread for having lack of respect. Kind of a bully without credentials.

Again, Bozo, what do stats have to do with respect (or disrespect)?

The validity of thsoe stats (or lack thereof) doesn't excuse the complete lack or respect and class shown in this thread by that poster. PERIOD.

im going to miss you Roy Thanks alot for all the great memories. Like being the ONLY thing to be proud of the 2002 season!!!

Doesn't matter what the thread is, you show the same lack of respect for other posters IMO, a true internet tough guy. Stats are from NFL.com and Football Outsiders, you know, Adam sources ...oops, angry guy makes another mistake.

Thank you for the first few years, not so much on the last few though.

Roy was probably the most front-loaded star we've had in the Jerry era. Everybody loved him when he came out, he brought some toughness to an otherwise struggling team. And no matter how we were doing in the game, there was always the anticipation of a huge hit.

You aren't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. That's for dang sure.

he was the only star when we were horrible, and he played his best during those years

won't ever forget your bone-crushing hits my man

wished you could've stayed here longer

That says it all. His play and his passion for hitting had declined, it is time for him to go and be a problem for someone else.

Thanks for wanting to be a cowboy. You still own one of the best college highlights in the history of football. I'm happy for you that you met Kelly Rowland and found God, but you haven't been the same player since either of those things. I respect it, but also wished you could have maintained your fury. you will be missed~

Over the last 3 years he clearly wasn't the safety he once was and it wasn't chiefly because of Wade's 3-4 scheme. But early in his career he was something special. A big secure contract, peace in mind and body, loss of confidence and other intangibles took away his edge and devotion to the game.

Amazing and giving individual out of uniform though. The irony is that after all the infighting over Roy in this forum even adamjt13's stats didn't save him. Ultimately it comes down to playing at or near the high level you once did, that's what you got drafted and highly paid for - to be a long term impact player.

The biggest disappointment to me was Roy Williams started fading when only in his mid 20s. Despite my criticism of Roy I do respect and cherish his contributions in his early years. He was electric and the Mike Tyson of the secondary.

Ah yes, when the subject matter gets uncomfortable, revert to being the master of the high caliber riposte, with such winners as bozo pwned and now the old standard dim-bulb. Dang, that's impressive, really.
Roy was an exciting game changer in his early years but couldn’t keep it together either in coverage or @ the LOS over the last few seasons. Those stats should help you understand that, heck, you were the one that requested that he be measured against his peers.

Ah yes, this coming from the clown that still hasn't responded to my original question...

What do stats have to do with having respect/class?

You gonna answer that one now, or keep ignoring it?
