The Tony Romo Thread

Why didn't it kill other teams ?

Garrett had them poorly prepared

I agree with you, they weren't prepared. But other teams don't have our defense. What were your thoughts about our defense at the beginning of the season? And they are atop the east now so they have been beating teams.

The speed and tempo Philly has killed us. You could prepare for a month and it wouldn't matter. You really think they haven't studied the Eagles till this week?

Not very much. They had to prepare for the teams they had to play that week. They're bodies didn't have time to recover. Either way, they were outclassed in every aspect. Give a professional coach a month to prepare and he better have a damn good game plan. 10 days to prepare next time and I guarantee it makes a difference.

Romo is like an aging pitcher. He's still effective when his workload is managed closely but you can't throw him out there on short rest and expect him to physically hold up.

I expect he'll be much better in our next game after 10 days to rest up.

We are going to find out. They just got first hand what they need to do different.

Dallas Cowboys fans are the most ignorant people I swear. Nobody showed up to play today and the first thing people do is blame the entire thing on Romo. I seriously question if some of you actually watch the entire game. Most of the time it sounds like your just quoting of the ESPN high lights. Romos played his best season so far. Him and the entire team had a bad game and all you wanna' be fans call for Romos head. Please go find another team to rip apart after one performance cause Romo is going to be here for awhile and I'll easily take him over 25 other staring QBs in this league. The Cowboys will bounce back and I'll make sure to come back here and see your comments after we start winning again.

Hear hear! Sometimes I am ashamed to be a Cowboys fan as we tend towards being Chicken Littles at the first sign of trouble. We could have lost 13-10 today, and the Chicken Littles would still be out there. We are 8-4 in a 3 way tie for the 2 wild card spots, 1 game at of first in our division. The season isn't ****ing over!

The defense is horrible but the offense needs to out together some long drives and points

. We just do not utilize what we have effectively and challenge defenses. We basically dare them to stop our best.

It is very arrogant and when it does not work, we have no response other than what you saw today on national television.

.

THIS is what I have been looking for. Totally agree with you Alexander. Its like the Dallas philosophy is "we're gonna line up and do what we do every single week". When Plan 'A' does not work, there is no Plan 'B'.

I gotta quit talking. I promised I was going to wait til the end of the season before I start saying I want Garrett fired. But if I hang in here 10 more minutes, I think I will break my promise. :D

I'm sure they did.

I think they did too. It didn't matter.

I'll bet the eagles saw something on film they knew they would exploit ant that is why they had so much swag.

This was a real but whipping on several levels.

An offense with less Romo is a more efficient offense, IMO.

It also cannot score with regularity.

Teams know that they can take five here and five there and eventually we will screw up twice and they get the ball back against our defense.

While I hate the "it is a passing league" idea, you have to be able to challenge defenses in multiple ways in the passing game.

You have to stress the defense. A running game is going to wear them down, but it is not going to tax anyone conceptually.

That is why the read option and the Wildcat before it had temporary success. They made defenses think.

Our passing game is not exactly complex enough to make anyone think.

Half the time we have two options in the design when we go play action, one of which is high risk, the other not worth bothering with.

when we are favored, playing at home, at night, it's seems like it's always a LOSS

when we are underdogs, playing on the road, in the day time, it seems it's always a WIN

I'm not sure where I fall on this; I can kinda see it both ways right now. But I will say that the other guys have just as much of a right to say the season is slipping away as you do in suggesting that the team will be okay.

Team played poorly in all 3 areas. I thought they looked tired. Combo that with the Philly fast paced O and that's a bad mix. I don't think that the D and D coaching staff knew how to handle the Philly attack and had little time to study it. Next time they will have 10 days to prepare.

they better get after it.

They definitely saw something in our O line they could exploit.

Yes. But aside from blaming coaches - how much blame is on tony.

I mean, they keep bringing in offensive coaches but it still doesn't get romo over the hump.
