And that's Demarcus Ware's fault how? He doesn't make your top 5 because he's a spoiled brat who didnt serve his country and god? Wow.

Only including people I've actually seen play:

Troy Aikman
Emmitt Smith
Michael Irvin
Jason Witten
DeMarcus Ware

Deion Sanders was a tough omission. He was right there with Smith, Aikman, and Irvin in terms of solidifying me as a fan of the team. Actually, he was probably my favorite player of the 4. I had his jersey, his shoes and everything. I still have a poster of him back in the room I slept in as a kid, I believe. The reason I left Sanders off though is because of the things I've learned about him since I've grown up.

Yeah, Deion Sanders doesn't really count. He was and always will be an Atlanta Falcon and even moreso than that, an Atlanta Brave to me.

You actually picked the Top 10 Cowboys of all time and Randy White was not among them? Romo, Witten, Ware, Hayes above White? How old are you?

I'm also willing to bet you Bob Hayes could run past 98% of todays NFL Corners. We could go all day.
Only because the other two percent get a 15-yard running head start. ;)

My Top 5 Cowboys of all time are comprised of players that dominated and that played the most important position on a football team and played it as well as it has ever been played (QB). In no certain order my Top 5 (players only) are:

Roger Staubach
Troy Aikman
Emmitt Smith
Bob Lily
Randy White

Next 5:

Tony Dorsett
Michael Irvin
Larry Allen
Mel Renfro
Drew Pearson

Charles Haley and Deion didn't play long enough with the Boys to be considered. Likewise, none of the current Cowboys have been at it long enough or won anything in order to be considered, YET. At the rate we're going, Ware and Witten could be on the list in 5-7 more years.

No matter what your top 5 are, isn't it plain that we have been blessed with a great legacy of GREAT players as Cowboys fans?

I put Aikman above Smith, others put Smith above Aikman. I put Irvin above Hayes, others would turn that around. I think Dorsett was the greatest back we have ever had, but who can argue against Smith? and on and on the discussions could go. But what is without debate is that I don't think another franchise has any greater number of great players than we have been blessed to enjoy watching.

Roger, Aikman, White, Romo, Meredith
Dorsett, Smith, Hill, Thomas (for his short spurt of greatness), Don Perkins
Irvin, Hayes, Pearson, Alworth
Novacek, Witten, Dupree, Ditka

I mean just go position by position and the depth of greatness is amazing.

That's who I would have said but I hate not having Mel Renfro & Dorsett included somewhere. But if you can only pick 5 then those are the guys I would go with.

Lilly, Allen, & Emmitt were the best ever at their positions & Roger & Randy are in the top-5 all-time at theirs.

Exactly...Renfro was a GREAT great player...It is amazing that he or Dorsett could not crack a top 5 list...this franchise has been blessed with many great players I have been very lucky to have seen most of them play if not all of them.
