Lance had two more controlled years on his contract (at the time) I don’t think it’s a bad trade in a vacuum but it certainly did not make a lot of sense because they seemingly have no plan for him
Lance is QB1 when Dak goes. And go he will.

The compensation that idiot gave up for Lance becomes more ridiculous as more deals are made. Fields traded for a conditional 6th round pick that becomes a fourth only if he plays 51% of the snaps.
A 4th for the 3rd pick overall in the 2021 draft?

That trade is money.

They gave JimmyG $6million in 2022 to be Lances backup.
yeah be the backup or leave...he literally told everyone he was in the market for a QB then drafted Lance...if it wasn't lance it would've been another QB..Shan was done with Jimmy G and told everyone this fact.

A Dak acl tear would be a good thing. See what Trey can do…and hopefully be able to move on from garbage Prescott.

Cooper was due 60 million over 3 seasons in base.
A price they should've been willing to pay but instead they pay a bum like Michael Gallup and trade for a one trick pony in Cooks. Think about all of the one on ones Lamb could've gotten over the past two seasons if he actually had a viable #2 WR (who's really a 1b).

Cowboys need to trade Trey Lance and get a 4th round pick back. Too many holes to fill in 2023 and not enough draft picks. It doesn't get any more ignorant than carrying a 3rd string QB, paying him more ($5 mil) than your backup ($3 mil) and occupying a much needed roster spot once again...just because the owner is a fool who caves to the hordes of Dak haters.
I don't have much faith in Trey because I trust Shanahan when it comes to evaluating talent BUT since he's here we should let him at least PLAY before making a real judgement on him.

They better start taking the quarterback position seriously in Dallas. Drafting qbs only 4th or worse is management malpractice.....and this applys to when Romo was here too so its not Dakcentric

Honestly you’re right. I wouldn’t be surprised Trey goes in at a point and stinks it up. Next year they try to get homegrown Quinn ewers

over JimmyG? 8/
Quite possible. After giving up so much, Niners desperately wanted him to play. I'm not a Niners fan so I have no idea, but it's common for a young QB to be handed a starting position w/o earning it.

You forgot to add, a 4th for a bust. Once a player gets in the league, where they were drafted is irrelevant. Jamarcus Russell was the #1 pick, want him too?
