Romo fans around here act like Romo doesnt have bad games

Im my suggesting Romo isn't better...but let's not act like every time Dak misses a pass..or has a poor performance..that Romo automatically would have been better

Romo isn't putting up 16 amazing games a season...nobody is

I think with Romo you would have way more passing TDs.
However, with Romo, I also think you have way more Turnovers.

But this thread should be in the QB zone...and I think you know that.
So off we go.

This is not true

Romo first game vs philly in 14...he was awful
He was awful vs Philly in first game in 15
Romo had numerous other games in 14 where he was just as bad

Romo isn't perfect guys..he has games where he plays poorly too..

huh. it's exactly true. 14 was arguably the best season of his career, and in the league that year.

The truth is we don't know what Romo can do at this point.

The truth is that Romo did not throw the ball well in 2013 when he had all day to throw and had Dez and Beasley wide open. He mentioned he changed how he gripped the ball to throw it more accurately, but it didn't show up in 2013.

And the truth is that Romo has played very little football in the past year. Even if we were to presume that he's 100% healthy, he could still very well be rusty.

Now let me say that I love Dak and everything he brings to this team and our offense. I liked him very early on in preseason, more than most. I am extremely excited about the present and the future of our Cowboys. Having said that this offense would be that much better with a healthy Romo.
If Romo had played on Sunday night the game never would have went into overtime. Actually it would have been over by the 4th quarter. There were guys running wide open all night and I am not even talking about the throws that Dak missed on, I'm talking about the ones he didn't even make.
I think we would have won easily against the Eagles. Probably by two TDs. I know everyone is in the "now" but don't forget how special a QB Romo is. I would rank him only behind Brady and Rothlisberger. I understand the injury concerns but when Tony is fully healthy he should have his job back and if he losses it to injury or bad play so be it but he should get it back.
Of course all the media and fans are going to say "Jerry is going to blow this whole thing like he always has by putting Romo back in", but I think it is the complete opposite. I think that Jerry is going to blow this whole thing by leaving Dak in there. Again this is not a knock on Dak, it's just that Romo gives us the best chance to win a Super Bowl this season.

I agree with the "with a healthy Romo" part, but I think that the healthy element of that supposition is no longer valid. Over the past year, Tony has averaged less than a game and a half before being medically knocked out for months/season. Opposing defenses will just keep hitting him legally and otherwise until he's injured again, his technical superiority is a moot point.

Geez...Dak admitted he had a bad first half, but he had better second. And a really good OT.

nothing. neither did the quote you responded to as not true. the guy just said that with a similar gameplan and solid running game romo had an incredible season. it's true, you said it wasn't, I responded. nothing to do with sunday night

I dont get this line of thinking. So play the inferior QB until we lose games? Wait until Dak loses games (games that can affect playoff seeding) to insert Romo ?

I think we can say Dak is an inferior passer to Tony at this point but I don't think we can say who is the best quarterback almost halfway through the season for this configuration of the Dallas Cowboys. Romo sees the field better and would undoubtedly make plays that Dak hasn't, but Dak takes fewer sacks and protects the ball better. The playbook is more diverse with Dak at the helm, especially the running game, and running is what the Dallas Cowboys are built to do. Nobody loves Tony Romo more than I do, but I think it's impossible right now to say he's better for the team.

I agree that with Dak at the helm, the running game is improved (his threat to run, read option, not checking out of run plays). With that said, I truly feel we have a chance to win a Super-Bowl this year. There isnt a team in the NFC that I think we cant beat. With that said, no rookie QB has ever won a SB.

Dak isnt going anywhere. He is the future, but he needs help with his mechanics. Its one thing to get fooled by the defense or try to fit balls in to tight windows, but to me its worse when you cant make simple throws in a clean pocket.

I understand that.. Every QB benefits from the run game.

I just like our base offense better when Dak is a threat to roll out, run zone reads, and all of the east and west football we play.

I would've rather had Romo sunday night for sure but Dak found a way and that's all that matters.

We just cant afford to let Dez run free in the secondary and Dak not get him the ball. Hopefully we get that squared away.
Those zone reads are nice but the roll out for the majority aren't big plays and teams are zeroing in on them now. But the main problem is Dak missing on the reads and throws of 10-20 yards.

When did opinions become facts. This topic is nothing but opinions on both sides. Stop trying to present your opinion as a fact. Romo may have been rusty, thrown 4 ints, and lost by 20 points. No one knows what would of happened. Romo probably would have completed some of those missed passes but he also probably would have been sacked 3 or 4 more times. He certainly wouldn't have executed the read option that Dak scored on so with Romo that possession may have been a field goal. Who knows!

Zeroing in on the roll out is a good thing for our run game.

You have to respect Daks ability to run.

Dak does miss things down field but what we saw Dak struggle with we saw Romo struggle with almost his entire career and that is all out blitz with press coverage.

I want Romo back but Dak does some things that Romo just can't do that I think make us a more dangerous team.

Honestly that was the type of game that Romo gets hurt in because of the pressure and Romo loving to hold on to the ball to let things happen. Romo doesnt run zone reads in the redzone that has led to a few TD's this season. Romo doesnt run for first down when the pressure is there. Dak is definitely a different QB than Romo but he gets it done...in a different and efficient way.

exactly....I can as easily say Romo wouldn't have made it through the 1st quarter standing upright

my thought exactly. he may have been knocked out of the game early. we'll never know. we won the game, and that's what matters.

I'm sorry this isn't an attack, but are you slow?

what does one game have to do with an overall season. you realize that even with that first eagles game, his ENTIRE season was still tops right. please keep up.

and with all due respect, if you are in fact slow, I apologize.

Let me get this straight

This is the same Eagles defense that made Big Ben, who is a better QB than Romo, look like a rookie. Are you going to tell me with a straight face Romo wouldnt have left that game on anything but a stretcher? This is not only laughable, but its delusional to think Romo wins that game against a top defense that made Big Ben look like crap.

This is the actual truth- Romo, 10 years as a starter, 0 MVPs, two playoff wins, 4 playoff appearances, constant choking in week 17 each year.
