- Eric Fisher. Been discussed ad nauseum. You are gonna over pay him, because he wants money and really he is mediocre. But he is also just enough on the right side of mediocre of have played LT on two Super Bowl teams. I think he is the best option if you want Tyler to eventually be your LT. I really dont think you want Smith there in 2022

-Walker Little. Talented and only 23. Supposedly the Cowboys are very high on him. Plays the one position Jacksonville is actually strong at, so may be attainable. Downside is, its gonna cost you in draft compensation. They arent just going to give him away. It will probably cost a 2nd and maybe another pick. However that could also bring in your long term LT

I agree completely. I think it comes fine to what resources they want to give up?
  1. Cap space (Fisher)
  2. Draft capital (Little)
Assuming of course that Jacksonville would part with Little.

Here’s an interesting thought, what about BOTH? Fisher for the short term and Little for the long term?

I really like the idea of Walker Little.

He was once projected to be the 1st overall pick pre ACL and then sitting out a season for Covid.

The price may be a 2nd and that’s pretty steep. But you have your franchise LT that you likely are drafting the following season in the 1st or 2nd.

Both would be the best of all worlds we would actually be replacing our injury prone left tackle and providing a backup tackle possibly.

That would be a lot to hope for but I like it.

How can it ever be wrong to invest heavily in your offensive line it's really a no-brainer

I think the Cowboys want to roll over cap space. Little lets them do that. Fisher will take some of that up, but the trade off is you keep the draft chips to add cheap talent

I think Jacksonville if they got a good offer. Little isnt starting and their OT's are still young. Its probably their position of strength. Little has good NFL tape too. I could see Little costing day 2. Or at least a 2nd and 4th. But he is also 23 and could be your LT on a 2nd round contract for the next 3 years

I do like the idea of adding two OT's, but if we were to trade for Little, add someone cheaper than Fisher. Like a Darryl Williams. I think if you pony up the cost for Little, that has to be your guy now

If they contact the jags about him the will rip JJ for everything they can. They will ask for a 1st. JJ wouldn’t want to give them a 2nd.

Don't know, word on Fisher is he may not be able to play and he already turned down 9 offers.

As you said Jags may not want to part with Little, or may want premium picks.

It’s obvious to me that it’s time to move on from Tyron Smith. It sucks, and I feel terrible for him, but the team must go on. And they need a capable replacement for today, and for the future. I feel the combination does both of those things.

They are definitely going tl want premium picks @AbeBeta isnt wrong in that he is probably viewed as their RT after 2022. But he could be attainable as the do have Taylor who is still only 25. Trading Little pretty much means you are extending him.

Maybe a #2 and a player or two down the depth chart for Little?

But I would ‘borrow’ from future Tyron Smith cap allocation to pay Fisher now.

Agreed it would cover a multitude of sins and have us in a position where we could run the ball till our receiving core was back at full strength.
If Jerry serious that the offense is going to run through Zeke he has to give him adequate blocking for that to work out and this would be the chance to put his money where his mouth is

Depends on the the player. My guess is it would would have to be a starting caliber player or potential starter. Thing is in a trade they leverage, we dont
