Brian Baldinger was just on NFLN talking about the Bengals OL issues last season and how they tried to adjust it this off season.

He said teams at this time need to find the answers from within. There is really no one out there that a team can just go out and get to improve their OL.

So teams are looking and in the same situation. I wonder if their fans are throwing out the same names and trade ideas as on here.

I am not disregarding anything posted on here. I am just putting out there what he said.

Tampa for one is probably having the same discussions we are having.

I would give a 2nd rounder for Walker Little. A 1st round prospect with a year of NFL experience (started 3 games as rookie and played 9). It’ll be interesting what to do if/when Smith comes back. You probably don’t wanna replace Steele if they view him as the RT of the future. Do you wanna take away experience from your top two prospects (Little and Tyler Smith) if they’re both playing well? You don’t replace Martin. The only real replaceable player is Biadasz but you’d have to shift around the entire OL to squeeze Tyron back in. In other words, a trade for Walker Little would be a move toward the future, and then it could get messy trying to insert Tyron back into the roster.
Unfortunately as much as I love Tyron he needs to be inserted into retirement as he can no longer be relied upon.

If they do, that would be awful. Goodbye season and 40 million a year QB
I wouldn't say it's a season killer, but there will most definitely be growing pains. Everything we have seen thus far by management is giving their prospects the opportunity to learn on the job, unless they do a 180, don't see that happening. Bright side maybe, that we all thought Steele would be terrible replacing Collins during his suspension, he actually held up, Tyler is the better prospect.

I like the idea of a 2nd and a player or two for Little. But if you're Jacksonville, you're not going to trade for a player that is likely to be cut after the 53 cut. The Cowboy would have to be willing to give up a player they would like to keep plus a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I will wait and see if they do anything by Wed.....if not, we'll know for sure it's Tyler's job.

Let's face it, we are likely drafting an
OT or OG in the 1st or 2nd rounds next year. Why not get ahead of the curve and get Little this year?

I think the Cowboys want to roll over cap space. Little lets them do that. Fisher will take some of that up, but the trade off is you keep the draft chips to add cheap talent

I think Jacksonville if they got a good offer. Little isnt starting and their OT's are still young. Its probably their position of strength. Little has good NFL tape too. I could see Little costing day 2. Or at least a 2nd and 4th. But he is also 23 and could be your LT on a 2nd round contract for the next 3 years

I do like the idea of adding two OT's, but if we were to trade for Little, add someone cheaper than Fisher. Like a Darryl Williams. I think if you pony up the cost for Little, that has to be your guy now
See this is the thing - are they starting Tyler at LG or Mcgovern? If you don’t plan on playing Tyler at LG for the long-term Little becomes a nuance in your plans.

Is Jerry willing to waste a 2nd rd pick on a lame duck headcoach? This may be the opportunity the family is waiting for which is sickening

Anyone else liking Baldinger a lot more after he got suspended a few years back?

I’m good going with Smith if his ankle checks out. Let’s see what we have and we can always do something after that.

I really like the idea of Walker Little.

He was once projected to be the 1st overall pick pre ACL and then sitting out a season for Covid.

The price may be a 2nd and that’s pretty steep. But you have your franchise LT that you likely are drafting the following season in the 1st or 2nd.

My sentiments as well, it's not like they're going to get away with landing a quality LT for much less. Pay it!

Probably true.......but I have a hard time believing a player such as Fisher can't help, especially since Tyron will miss most of the season.

Would the Cowboys flip Tyron for Walker straight across?

- Eric Fisher. Been discussed ad nauseum. You are gonna over pay him, because he wants money and really he is mediocre. But he is also just enough on the right side of mediocre of have played LT on two Super Bowl teams. I think he is the best option if you want Tyler to eventually be your LT. I really dont think you want Smith there in 2022

-Walker Little. Talented and only 23. Supposedly the Cowboys are very high on him. Plays the one position Jacksonville is actually strong at, so may be attainable. Downside is, its gonna cost you in draft compensation. They arent just going to give him away. It will probably cost a 2nd and maybe another pick. However that could also bring in your long term LT
Cowboys really can't afford to spend on Fisher. That leaves trading draft picks or working with what you have.

Some fine thoughts in this thread addressing our immediate issues but not sure it’s likely our leadership will follow such a course.

Undoubtedly. Everyone knows we’re desperate. But desperate times call for desperate measures.
You’d think so but from some of the comments coming out from Jethro and Son it doesn’t appear they are going to look elsewhere . And I’m not surprised at all.

Jerry and Son would get fleeced in any kinda trade ........ teams know we are desperate and those two are morons.

Fisher is only real option ...... give him guaranteed money to keep the costs down on a 3 year deal.
