I take either over the embarrassment of sitting on our hands not being able to run the ball having our quarterback annihilated.

And possibly even more penalties than we normally have if that's possible
We’ve led the league in penalties cumulatively over the last two years so it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to do it again.

It will be a struggle but at least we’ll have a better sense if our highly touted 1st round pick is indeed the answer moving forward. If not then we’ll probably draft OL early again next year.

Who knows , Tyler might be up to the challenge. It might not be as devastating as it could be. It’s certainly looking like Jethro and Son are willing to put him out there. We can always move Steele back over there and realign our starters.

I think we're likely to seek help from the final cuts and hope for the best.

Otherwise, Ty Nsekhe might be the FO's desperation move for a LT.

If the FO elects to assign Tyler Smith to the job, it'd do him a disservice.

And if this season falls short our leadership has a built in excuse or scapegoat despite the criticism for not being more prepared for another injury from Tyron.

And if Dak gets hurt as a result even more excuses. Only an ownership and FO like ours with no accountability could survive. Next year will be a new season to hype and con the fans. Rinse and repeat!!

Jerry and Son would get fleeced in any kinda trade ........ teams know we are desperate and those two are morons.

Fisher is only real option ...... give him guaranteed money to keep the costs down on a 3 year deal.
Yep

Not many teams want to give up their LT anyway. If they did we might not want them.

We didn’t plan for the worse case scenario except for using our 1st round pick on the heir apparent.

You have really let your imagination run wild with the ramifications of this Tyron Smith injury. Good god man, snap out of it. Not being able to run the ball and having our QB, "annihilated" may sound dramatic and dire but the Cowboys are nowhere near the desperation you seem to want to assign to them with your newly adopted poetic license. Get hold of your emotions and stop allowing them to think for you. The sky is not falling!

Send the Jags a second round pick and CB Joseph. a second round pick is really a small price to pay for a starting LT, esp one that is young and decent. However, Jones is so terrible at negotiating he will end up having to send two firsts…

- Eric Fisher. Been discussed ad nauseum. You are gonna over pay him, because he wants money and really he is mediocre. But he is also just enough on the right side of mediocre of have played LT on two Super Bowl teams. I think he is the best option if you want Tyler to eventually be your LT. I really dont think you want Smith there in 2022

-Walker Little. Talented and only 23. Supposedly the Cowboys are very high on him. Plays the one position Jacksonville is actually strong at, so may be attainable. Downside is, its gonna cost you in draft compensation. They arent just going to give him away. It will probably cost a 2nd and maybe another pick. However that could also bring in your long term LT

Yep certainly take both. If we are really high on Little I dont think a 2nd+ a throw in from the roster is a bad thing. It'll mean Tyler stays at LG and potentially turns a question mark into a strength especially as Little's got 3 years left on his rookie deal.

The problem (as most of us will identify), is that Stephen doesnt appear to by the kind of GM that will go out and make an offer....it's as if he see's that as a weakness and he's afraid that if he makes the first move he loses the bargaining position (and Daddy will be disappointed if he messes up again Randy deal).

If we had a proactive FO we'd see that Jacksonville will have to get rid of at least one Tackle, we need to take advantage and rather than wait for the Jags to decide which one, start working on a potential deal....Stephen deals are made on win/win, if you hope you're bound to end up with the castoff.

Probably true.......but I have a hard time believing a player such as Fisher can't help, especially since Tyron will miss most of the season.

I agree.
But just wanted to let fans know what he said, there are other teams in the same situation. And not a lot out there to choose from. And that those other teams are also looking from within on their own roster.

Oh yes another one of the amnesia stricken homers that can't get their blinders off long enough to remember what happens when Tyron goes out with an injury.

Trust me I wish it wasn't as grave as circumstance as it is and granted it shouldn't be but it's been proven over and over too many times.

Just go back to the Chaz green incident and refresh yourself

A lot of offers for a guy that can’t play, no?

I’d give up a second if it means a potential left tackle option. How about you?

I'd do the 2nd in a heartbeat. Probably be willing to throw something else in. You have a guy that you have seen play football in the NFL. I think this by far would be the best move I have heard.

Which they are probably saving for some critical signings next year.
I keep hearing that they're hoarding money to resign players currently on the roster (Parsons, diggs, lamb) but that's not really how this works.

Those players still have at least 2 years of cheap money before the extensions would even go through

Not only that even if it was hypothetically those three players last year of their rookie deal most extensions have very low first year cap hits (signing bonuses are almost always large upfront cash payments that are prorated further down the contract)

But I heard they are over the cap next year and the have to pay Parsons and Diggs
Parsons extension wouldnt even start till 2026 and Diggs wouldn't even start till 2024.

In regards to next year they have fluff they can cut, restructures, and the cap is going up again

I'd rather they sign one of the old former pro-bowlers. Whitworth or Peters.

You know a lot of these guys get their deals redone a year early, right? Like we did with Zeke.
