The Umpteenth Roy Williams Gripe Thread **Merge | Deion Apology Audio Post #589**

after reading some of these arguments, I am going to have to side with BlindFaith

Romo hasn't been very accurate this year, yesterday was just a sample of his play this year

but still, Roy, the self-described possession receiver, needs to catch most of these balls coming his way, at least 60% of them, considering his contract and pedigree

so since we're 7-3 and in first place in our division, i would say we're a success to date, albiet with some issues to fix.

you anti-roy people just go nuts on this topic and let common sense get away from you.

show me a guy running a failed business who makes billions, please.

kinda a contradiction is it not? so if jones knows how to run a business, then they must see something in roy his haters won't see, correct? just using your own logic here.

the antiroy crowd has no shame in the lengths they will make up crap to get their point across, even if it hurts their point in the end.
Not winning a playoff game since 1996 is what you call running a successful organization, huh? But who cares about what kind of product a company puts out as long as the owner makes his billions...just using your own logic there.

Really? The offense needs him to step up? Seems like the offense was doing just fine the 4 games prior to the Green Bay game, and Roy only truly contributed in the Philly game. So, if that is true (which it is), the offense failing in the last 2 games truly is a collective effort (unfortunately).
Heeeeelllooooo....Of course the offense needs him to step up. Have you not been paying attention? That is what this whole thread is about.

My point has been. The majority of the moderates as I call them, talk about how we need to give Roy time and make up all these excuses to why we can't grill his ***.

But imagine if T.O. had performed like this. The hypocrisy is killing me.

it's all about attitude

Roy has a good attitude

but the argument seems to have shifted to it doesn't matter, because Romo isn't as accurate as he has been

just more re-directs

Romo is less accurate because his wack *** receivers aren't getting open, or getting any separation.

You don't go from absolutely balling out of control with Glenn, Owens, Witten, etc.

To suddenly becoming an average passer. It has to do with the fact that he's throwing to an UDFA thats still learning the position, a former college QB, and Roy Wi1iams.

We need to get him some targets, because he's been forced to jam the ball in tough spots all season long.

For the love of christ lets draft a guy like Jackson, Harvin, etc. We've still been trying to replace Glenn since he left, and he was the receiver that had the best chemistry with Romo IMO.

I think his struggles have to do with the offense

he's running a lot less roll-outs and boot-legs than in the past, and we hardly look towards the middle of the field

all those routes seem to be down the seam

Best post in the thread IMO. Bob's making a lot of sense too but you nailed it. Oh, by the way, another day is in the books and Roys still sucks ***. He's learning how to counter criticism verbally though (Landry). It's too bad he has nothing physical to counter with.... Watching him game after game is making my eyes bleed. Is there hope? Goodness... for what we gave up, hope and prayer are on tap.

Bob, I have no idea what that guy was trying to say a few posts back...lol

lol wut was the perfect response.

it's funny to see all the T.O. fans who used to blame Romo now backing him when it comes to the new overrated "#1 wr" on this team.

There's no need to generalize. Man up. ;) Romo has earned my respect this year by standing in, taking his lumps, and still leading this team to a 7-3 record to this point. Romo is by no means a finished project. However, to gloss over the blatantly obvious shortcomings of the ornamental garbage bag and blame Romo.... well... I call that extremely short sighted.

I find it extremely funny how the old school TO haters still hate someone that's no longer a Dallas Cowboy. :) That pent up hatred is comedy.

I didn't mean just you, Bleu. I don't really hate that old wr in Buffalo anymore cause I can't help but laugh at the oppurtunity that he wasted.

Yeah... No one wants to hear about Roy, yet this thread's views are astronomical. I guess that blows the theories of some totally out of the water. Thanks for the merge mods.

It looks like not a lot has changed since 2006. I dug up this game thread from the last regular season game against the Lions in which Dallas lost 39-31 before losing to Seattle in the playoffs the following week. Coincidentally, it also marks the last time Roy had over 100 yards and at least two TD's in the same game.
Some interesting stuff there if you want to take a gander.

2006 Cowboys vs Lions Game thread Week 17

This thread has far more views than the sticky "donations" thread. I'm not sayin. I'm just sayin.
