The Unfathomable Kellen Moore Play. Did this seal his doom with Jerald?

HE may be...we will see. A friendly wager? Nothing silly like a board exile. Like...10 bucks for a beer? If Zeke PLAYS even one down in 2023.

But anyway....bending down to hike the ball puts you in a very vulnerable spot. Centers train and work all their lives on it. Picking up a blitzer has you in position to steal yourself before the impact.

Okay...so we disagree on it...bit deal. No need for insults?

(hey look....I'm TRYING to change here. I'm getting weary of the constant hostilities. I guess stand by and see, right?)
Some posters are complete jerks so trying to be polite or anything else but brutally blunt with them is worthless.

Zeke did his job; much better than Dak did and certainly better than Moore planned that game and play

It hurts me. It burns in me heart.

Don't make this about Dak.

Another Kellen Moore legacy for us.

What had inflamed me with regret all these years was Jackie Smith dropping tha ball in 1979. But at least Dan Reeves had a plan. A good one! Alas, it failed.

But this play should live in infamy when Fat Mac and Kellen Moore mentally abandoned their team in panic.

Indeed, wha was Dallas doing?
When McCarthy is let go it will be for the same reason Moore could never reach a Super Bowl in Dallas.
Spin it however, but #4 will cost several their jobs, just like Garrett did.

Facts as reported by who? Ever since Jimmy was fired for winning two consecutive championships there have hc trying to sell the fan base that they have authority under the Jones cartel model. It’s fools gold. The fuhrer may on occasion allow his hc a small measure of authority but they have very limited power.

If the Dallas hc had any real power, they’d be allowed to hire their own staff. That doesn’t happen here in case you’ve watched the last three decades of JonesBoys football.

Perhaps the fuhrer granted Big Mac a small bit of authority and then I won’t disagree w you, but it’s fools gold to pretend Dallas has a top down pyramid power scheme. It’s actually a spoke and wheel power structure where all power (i.e., fuhrer and son) is in the hub of the wheel and all around the perimeter are the players, coaches, staff that all report to the Jones boys. This has not changed since Jimmy left.

I’m not trying to be argumentative, you wanted facts so here they are. The spoke and wheel hierarchy has produced zero results in the playoffs and I don’t expect that to change either.

Why can’t the NFL take our idiot owner away so we can celebrate and have real hope again? Hope springs eternal.
There have been enough articles written about whose overall decision it was to retain Moore. I can't tell you how to research but start to look at articles overall when McCarthy was being hired, specifically his comments. I never considered Jerry an idiot owner but more or less as a self destructive, egotistical GM who did some good sporadically. Behind the scenes I believe Stephen Jones, McClay and McCarthy are running the show. Jerry is just a figurehead GM. He is 80 years old! Jimmy Johnson was one of the best head coaches the Cowboys ever had but when he went to the Dolphins and got free reign from that ownership to not only head coach but also general manage he fell short of his goals to win another Super Bowl totally his way. I find it ironic that Jimmy like Jerry assumed two key position but with the Dolphins team and fell short. After 4 years there Jimmy quit football altogether. His personal agenda despite being an accomplished head coach was never to have a long term career in football and more power to him.

He didn’t have free rein. He wanted to trade Marino and the owner wouldn’t allow it. A sentimental decision that wasn’t on Jimmy Johnson and it cost that team.

Well honestly the Cowboys only had 1 play that allowed yards after the catch and that wasn't it. SF wanted to protect deep so the underneath was open. I just don't know why KM called that play. Maybe a timing thing? Some kind of quick crossing route would have been better I think as CD would probably pickup the 1st down.

lets get rid of #4. lets do it. lets just replace him. who you got?

if you sayt Rush, then you would be the absolute most stupid poster on this board (along with several others who would be in the room with you).

McCarthy wanted Moore just as much as Parcells wanted TO.

When it comes to Jerry's interference, every Cowboys coach has dealt with this obstacle.

Jerry wanted to keep Moore and, most likely, this was one of the requirements for getting the job as HC.

that's an excuse. after this season? who you got. how will we be better? guarantee me.
Excuse? Just the truth. Who are you going to get in August? No one.

Guarantee you? How in the heck and I supposed to do that? My name isn't Jerry Jones. I have no idea what he will eat for lunch today let alone handle the QB position in the future.

It's not about bringing in someone better. It's about bringing in someone who could be better. Someone who could win a super bowl. If it were me I'd trade up for a rook next April. There are a couple who could turn out to be franchise type QB. Or you can rinse and repeat which means re-doing Dak's deal and paying him $50M a year for a few years. No thanks.

From inside a teams own 25 yard line? I'm pretty skeptical there is a history of success from that distance with any play. If we are in the 40-60 yards out range I agree with you completely. 75+ yards out is a different animal that requires some something special.

74 yards, but close enough.

Another reason you choose hail mary over that ridiculous naked center play is because you maybe can get a pass interference penalty which will give you the yards and an untimed down if the clock runs out on the pass attempt.

We could have signed Rodgers this off season and actually had a chance this year.

you sure we could have? or are you playing Madden NFL? people think the craziest things. like we should have signed Brady. when Brady didn't want to come here.

and I also asked, lets get rid of #4... your are digging in the past. you can't change the past.
find me someone that would make this team better next year. gaurantee me.

so you want Dak gone. but you don't want to offer any other options. you have no idea about any other options.
you just backed out from saying anyone would make us better, yet you want Dak gone..and you want somebody to come make us better. you don't even want to put your name next to any names and explain why it makes us better.

so all you are doing is b!tching and complaining for the sake of it. but you don't have any idea about how we can get better. so perhaps Jerry knows more and better than you?

so who can come in and make us better? who can take us to the superbowl.....make this team better. if you have no idea, perhaps this is the only option we have.

all you all just want an Elite QB, as if they grow on the vine in the vineyard and we just pick them. I don't care about the past. I care about future. is it drafting another QB? 80% of top 15 QBs fail. only about 3% end up being elite. does it mean not to draft another QB? no, we should. I want that. we should do it every few years. but no rookie is going to come in and help this team. plus we could waste years. Dak is a top 10. we continue to build. and draft a QB to develop. who is available in FA? only washed up, older players. when Brady was availab le, our team wasn't close to being ready, so he went to tampa, with a better coach, better team. he knew he can't get a ring with this team. when is the next Brady coming to FA?

Big_D: Perhaps that was a rumor about the owner Wayne Huizenga not wanting to allow Jimmy Johnson to trade Dan Marino or a deflection? Can't say for sure. But according to the March 12, 1996 article in the Miami Sentinel updated September 24, 2021 Johnson was trying to pull off a blockbuster trade with the Steelers along the lines of the one he made in 1989 with the Cowboys. CBS Sports also reported back then that Jimmy Johnson was trying to trade Marino to the Colts. Why would Huizenga allow him to attempt to trade Marino multiple times? One thing for certain Jimmy was head coach and GM of the Dolphins and was involved in the acquisition of players throughout his tenure.
