Love your posts Bob, but I think you just wrote lots of human behavior and interaction with sports that have been “normal” during the last 30 years.
The game day threads are my favorite thing on the zoneWe are less than 3 weeks from the start of real football that counts! Best time of year starts in September and all the speculation and hope we all have for the season begins to be tested.
One of the wildest roller coaster rides you can ever see on this great forum is watching the ups and downs of a regular season Game Day thread. It’s almost as good as a stand up comedian as long as you don’t take any of it too seriously.
It’s like being in a giant restaurant watching your favorite team with hundreds of other Cowboy fans either screaming with joy or demanding the firing of a coach….on each play! Sometimes it seems like we need a counselor hotline available…and that’s just for the first three and out!
So just for fun, here are some guaranteed funny moments on a Game Day thread that are as predictable as a sunrise:
Game Day threads are a great way to enjoy the games, hang with fellow Cowboys fans, and hopefully enjoy the game more. And it can be really fun if we all keep our heads…wait a minute…who am I kidding?
- If our offense has a three and out, you will see, “This is the worst offense I’ve ever seen. Schotty sucks. Get a real play caller in here.” “Game over.” “We may not score.”
- If we score on the next possession, “Great call!” “What a drive.” “Unstoppable”.
- If our opponent scores first, “Here we go. Game over.” “Parker is a joke”, “Get a real DC in here Jerry.”
- If Dak throws a TD or an INT, a war begins between those who believe DP is “the worst QB ever to wear the Star” and those saying, “He’s better than ____”, and then the middle school cafeteria food fight begins and some people have to be benched or locked out. No middle ground for a lot of folks.
- If we win…”Super Bowl.” “This team is different.” “We will run the table.” A bunch of “I told you so” comments.
- If we lose…”I knew this team was a joke.” “Fire everyone.” And…a bunch more “I told you so” comments.
Regular season will be here soon and I can’t wait. Go Cowboys!
This made me laugh because I’m already envisioning Dak throwing a bad ball or having a bad game and the Milton supporters come out and say play him and sit Dak. Then all war breaks loose in the zone. Aww game day threads are pure bipolar reactions in the moment. We are less than 3 weeks from the start of real football that counts! Best time of year starts in September and all the speculation and hope we all have for the season begins to be tested.

It’s more than entertainingYou're right Bob. The game thread is very entertaining...to say the least!!![]()
When I was a kid, Summer break seemed to last a long time. These days it's over in seemingly a couple of weeks from my current perspective. I'm already dreading the cold weather coming with the seasonal changes.I’m in my 60s Lonnie. Time gets faster every year my friend. Yep when you’re 10 years old waiting for Christmas, 3 weeks seems like a year. When your mid 60s, it seems like 3 days, lol
I've gotten to where the preseason games are much more enjoyable, especially since I joined a preseason fantasy football league. I'm currently in first place, and the championship is this week! Oh, I wish Beau Morgan was still on our ball club.

Yer the one talking all creepyYou shouldn't make posts about yourself bud!!!!![]()

This is why I will never get enough of Scooter Magruder and him giving his perspective of a Cowboys fan watching the game it is just like that..We are less than 3 weeks from the start of real football that counts! Best time of year starts in September and all the speculation and hope we all have for the season begins to be tested.

It's very split. On one hand you show way more patience with things. On the other you dont have time for this nonsense.I've gotten to where the preseason games are much more enjoyable, especially since I joined a preseason fantasy football league. Merry ChristmasYer the one talking all creepy![]()

Good morning coogeMerry Christmas
As long as people aren’t attacking each other it’s all good.People are people, so it will always be this way. Nothing really wrong with it one way or another. Kinda fun actually, even if we get in heated debates about over/under reactions.
I can't stand them. There is no discussion, and any point is quickly lost 346 posts back.
I completely understand. As a mod, I’m “on duty” sometimes on those Game Day threads, and they can be funny, or fun, sometimes predictable, sometimes too venomous. Never boring. The game day threads suck and i hate them with a BURNING passion
I stay out of them because it brings out the absolute WORST in the fans
If the other team gets ONE singular YARD they erupt into “fire everyone, we suck, 30 years”
