Has anyone played Assassin's Creed Valhalla? I'm pretty far into it now and overall I like it. I never played any of the other AC games. Part of the appeal is I like the subject matter but the game does have a fairly high number of bugs. It's weird to play all of the RPGs and see how each of them seems to do something right that the others don't. They should all get together and compare notes or maybe I should start taking notes in case I ever work on one of these modern ones.

Dude was gonna put out an APB...glad to see you posting again.

I didn't really like the combat in that opening village scene (axes) so moved onto Demon Souls (kinda wanted too so maybe was looking for a reason, etc) didn't really get far enough to see too many glitches though. I loved AC Odyssey and generally like the series so am going back to complete it probably after a few games I'm wrapping up now.

Thanks man. I'm dealing with a lot of personal and family issues right now so I haven't posted anything in a while.

The combat in Valhalla does get better as the character's skill improves and new weapons are acquired. I especially like the spear and the bow has a nice mechanic to it. I usually don't use bows much in other games but it works well in this one. Your character also has some brutal finishing moves that are pretty gory.

I understand and wish for the best for you my friend.

I'll definitely check it out again, it was just the timing more than the game type of thing. Gory is always a seller for me

YouTubers upscale Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to run in 8K with ray-tracing

Looks amazing.

Of course I think the game already looks amazing as is.

it still blows my mind, how vibrant and beautiful and massive an open world they were able to create, with the limitations of the switch hardware, by using such a cool and awesome looking art style.

it’s just a masterpiece.

I can’t wait for breath of the wild 2 to come out. Can’t wait.

Anyone else feel like the jump from Xbone/PS4 to Series/PS5 isn't that great of a leap? Other than faster loading times from the SSD, I am not really feeling like this generation has offered much of an upgrade. Is it because of the lack of optimized games?

I feel similar. The leap from Xbox one x to Xbox series x isn’t major graphically.

I do think they will get sharper once games are optimized to the system more over the next couple of years.

but part of me also thinks. Man the graphics are just so good already. How much better can they get. So I think “major” jumps won’t even be possible. I mean a “major” jump from where things are currently would just be like things being 100% photorealistic lol

The load times are sweet on the series x though. Amazing how much faster it starts the games up

Just give it a little bit of time. When the game developers catch up and are able to push the technology, you'll see it. As of right now, I see some differences, but yes it's not a blow your mind kind of upgrade.......yet. I'm lucky enough to have a Series X in my living room and a One X in my mancave. I've played on both. You get use to the Series X graphics, but when you jump back on a One X (Or One S for that matter), you see the differences. They may be subtle, but they're there.

The loads times are absolutely amazing. I tested out fast travel times on Division 2 on both consoles. One X it took me about 30 seconds to load after a fast travel. Series X? 10 seconds. :D

Open world games still blow me away. Now only how gigantic they're getting but also the pure amount of detail in them.

At times but not universal like you're kinda saying. Demon souls has a sharp crispness and the fire/water type stuff is where it can really stand out; the lighting effect changes I guess more spec. and in the env.

Nioh 2 is playing at 120 FPS so that is definitely noticeable for a Souls type of game where precision is everything. But not jaw dropping awe or anything. I played through Miles Morales and was about the same as Spiderman but touched up visually just a notch.

Still very grateful I was able to get one but also kind of tell others who haven't you're not missing that much quite yet in all honesty.

Games aren't churning out because the PS hardware isn't in buyers hands to purchase games . That's another part of the reason some IPs are delaying due to the scalping.

I usually only play games on Friday nights with my buddies and only sometimes. (like Longboysfan, I used to play World of Warships, but the entire game got stale hah)

Right now, I play Neverwinter on PC. I'm enjoying it, but I tend to burn out on MOORPGs after a couple of months. (actually pretty much all games)

Finding a game that can keep my attention for more than a month is pretty difficult. Over the last probably 5 years, it's only been World of Warships and Neverwinter. The last one I played for more than a month prior was probably Battlefield 3. I played the Star Wars Battlefront, but didn't last long due to some very cheese aspects of it.
..MMO's were the thing 12-10 yrs ago. Now peeps seem to do the Co-Up thing or just play on private servers. I wanted to try Fallout76, but afraid I would get divorced and lose my family.. ;)...
