If you use a walkthrough or watch someone else beat it and copy, then you did not beat the game. You did it the right way.

I had an apple IIgs computer a long time ago with a series of games called Kings Quests. I spent a long time not beating it or getting anywhere in the game. Years later I looked up the walkthrough of the first game in the series instead of trying to beat it when I was older, and I still regret it. Figuring that game out would have been an achievement.

I think it is a waste of money to cheat on the hard parts of games.
I loved adventure games when I was growing up but I learned that if I got stuck too long in one area, I would end up quitting and never playing it again. That was not due to frustration but simply having better things to do with my time.

While those situations were rare, I would look up how to get past that one part because I knew it was either that or I would have stopped playing.

Most of the adventure games I played and finished I did so without any help, but I have no regrets on the ones that I did get help with in one area.

On non-adventure games though such as RPG and FPS games I avoided using any cheat codes, cheat mods, etc. regardless of getting stuck because there was enough action to keep it fun while continuing to try to beat a tough area and a greater amount of satisfaction once I did.

I love the XCOM series. Have played that sucker to death through the years. Speaking of freebies, no telling how many freebies I missed out on because I didn’t realize until recently that Amazon Prime offers several free PC games every month. I don’t get to game as much as I would like, and when I do, I usually stick to a strategy game. It’s something that’s relaxing, and I can pick up two weeks later and not have lost my place or the storyline. The Amazon Prime service has given me a few good ones that I never would’ve known about otherwise. Some recent ones that I spent a lot of time enjoying were Frostpunk and Surviving Mars. Frostpunk is a city building game in an apocalyptic survival setting, and Surviving Mars is a colony builder on Mars based on the maybe not too distant future.

One thing I wish I would have known about those games was map drawing. I think I could have beat them or done better, if I had made maps with what char's and objects were on each screen. I quit quite a few of them as well.

One of my favorite wins was on Ninja Gaiden Black on the original xbox. I got to the spider chick boss late game, and got it saved with around 20percent life and no health potions. I must have fought her 50 times until I figured out every movement, how to beat her, and got the flawless victory. It was very close to me taking my xbox out into a field and doing the office space thing on it.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!! I got a PS5. :flagwave:

I've been signed up to Sony Direct. They sent me an invite to their event about a month ago. I just couldn't make it due to schedule conflicts. They sent another one yesterday and it worked out great for my schedule today. It started at noon here. I hopped in, was in a queue that said an hour wait. It quickly went from 1 hour, to 45 minutes, to 5 minutes, to 2 minutes, to the product page loading. I checked out super fast! haha Whole thing took me about 10 minutes. I threw in a controller because I like having a second one, and, it made me eligible for free express shipping.

So yeah, I'm stoked. About time.

Very nice Good for you brotha! I would check out Miles Morales as you definitely feel the controller feedback and it's a smooth game/satisfying game. Miles himself is a bit annoying though  I would rent Returnal too to try it out bf buying it...one of the few games I gave up on due to the rogue like set up not saving any progression (until Biome 3 anyway) but a lot of people loved it. Ratchet and Clank was really fun but a short game.

Gran Turismo I'm sure will look and play great as well...ENJOY!

Finally got it tonight around 7pm. Got it all hooked up and started loading some games. In the meantime I played Astrobot. That is such a fantastic game (it's also the best VR game experience I've ever had on my PS4 Pro). Anyway, the haptic feedback controllers are a trip!! I'm impressed. I've always been more of an Xbox homer, but I have to admit, those controllers are a big win for Sony.

Gran Turismo 7 loaded enough to be ready to start, but didn't have the whole game ready. The couple races I could do, wow, it looked great!!! Look forward to having this console.

Don't forget to add the additional SSD for the extra storage. I was amazed how quickly I ran out of space with the included HD.
