I am pulling for him, but I am not on his bandwagon. I like Wade just fine, but I won't pretend to believe I think he is the best possible Head Coach for this team. I want him to succeed here. I want that very badly.

If the players produce at a high level, Wade and Jason and the special teams coach (can't remember his name) can get them to the Super Bowl.

I think I share your opinion.

He's the coach, I support the coach. It doesn't mean that I don't have reservations or criticism eery now and then though.

I think being the DC fits him best and frankly, I think this Co-Head Coach thing works well for Dallas. Essentially he's the HC b/c he does the pressers, etc, but on the field, he's the DC with some HC duties, though I figure he gets input from Garrett occasionally so... it is what it is and right now, it's working.

Thing is I don't think there is any co-HC Wade is the HC it is his call to make when there is a critcal call to make and the teams success and failure rides on his shoulders. Wade is far from the only HC who does not call offense just as their are many HC who do not call the defense such as Andy Reid but they are the HC

Technically he's right. I think he has a 70% winning percentage. I still want to see him have postseason success before I annoint him though.

Meh, its a couple of % points better than Barry Switzer.

By that criteria Switzer was our winningiest coach of all time before Wade got here. All that means is that they both got handed a good team. (unlike most coaches, who by default inherit crappy ones)

The bandwagon tries to pull out of the barn but that Wade is just too plain fat and heavy for the horses to pull.

These Cowboys are winning without much help from Wade. WP is a figure head.

During a game Wade's look is more blank than a Fargo winter landscape, blanker than Plaxico Burris' charity-appearances schedule on the night he shot hisself, blanker than Jerra's books-to-read schedule. Blanker than the Cowboys Cheerleaders' director's list on scholastic achievement. Well, you get the point.:)
:lmao:

Wade is an excellent DC but not a HC IMO. I watched Mike Tomlin's press conference after last nights game in Denver and was almost in tears. "Now THERES a HC" was all I could think of.

After the presser, a guy on NFL Network relayed the story where on the last day of training camp, Tomlin had buses pulled up to the field shortly after practice started. As the players looked longingly at the buses hoping that the last day of TC would be cut short, Tomlin yells out something like "if you guys want to defend your championship, there are no short cuts!! Get out there and finish your practice!!"

Many will roll their eyes at mind games like that. I love that kind of stuff. And Tomlin gets nothing but respect from his players.

Wade would never think of doing something like that. It's not his style. I much prefer a firmer hand, because I believe that in crunch time, that firmer hand is often needed. Wade's post-season record shows his easy going ways hasn't worked yet. I hope it will this year.

As Hostile said, I support him only because he is the current HC. As for joining the bandwagon, I'll walk, thank you.

I agree a team needs a coach that has a firm hand usually. If a team is comprised of 53 Ratliffs though I think a softer approach won't hurt. I have no idea if everyone on the team has a mentality of a Ratliff, but I guess we will find out as the season progresses.

Yet players say Wade is not as soft as some have claimed. Dallas ran more 2 a days this past training camp than they ever did under BP and according to players the work he put them through during the bye week was not a walk in the park. Wade does treat these guys like NFL players because they are NFL players Wade did not become one of the top DC because he is soft.

In the front seat if not driving.

Plenty of time for everyone else to hop on.

I started warming back up to Wade a couple of weeks ago, I am on the tailgate of the wagon. December wins will truly put me right in that bandwagon. You have to love what he is doing on defense, getting more involved with the team, even recommending to Garrett to use Ogletree on those bubble plays. You read right Wade telling Garrett to use Ogletree on offense in a certain manner.

You go Michelin man!

I'm on it and have been on it. I was ready to jump after the last 2 games last year, but waited to see what "changes" were coming.
I dont think Wade inherited a good team. He definitly did not inherit a crappy one, but i think, this year especially, he has put his mark on it. Getting rid of Players he did not want and bringing in ones he trusted and knew helped a lot. And getting rid of bad coaches helped also.

I have no doubt his training camps are hard. I'm talking about his personality. When he takes the blame for the players mistakes is what I'm talking about.

Not yet. Given his past success (or lack thereof) he will have to prove that he can do a good job in the postseason.

I do think he looks better this year. He has a more hands-on approach which is helping the defense tremendously IMO. I also think the offseason moves to get rid of the locker room problems has benefitted him. With his coaching style you need players to hold themselves accountible and other players accountible. Thank goodness we have players like Ratliff, Romo, Witten, and others. I think as long as he has players like the ones mentioned above he can be successful, but if he has players like last year they will walk all over him and he will fail.

I have hope we can have a successful postseason, but Wade is going to have to prove it to me before I get on his band wagon.
Could not have said it better, myself!
I would, however, welcome him with open arms as DC were he to lose his position as HC. Not likely that that would occur, but I would go for it!

I must say I have altered my stance somewhat though. After the debacle in Philly last year, I wanted Wade's bandwagon thrown off the Grand Canyon.

He is the HC he is going to take the heat when players mess up because it is his job to fix it, all that matters to me is the problem is addressed and that is directed at the players by Wade and his staff.

I agree. I wish he would chew players out more though, but as long as he produces that's all that matters.

the fact that this team has not performed to its potential is something he has to overcome. Getting quality special teams coaching and taking over the defensive reigns has helped and Garrett seems to be growing professionally as does Wade,,, so I'm willing to cut him some slack for another season or two if the team can show progress.

Wade is who is he, Landry was nothing like Jimmy Johnson. I think people get hung up on style over substance. For me I only care about him being able to get this group of players coming together as a team and winning games and competing for a championship. One thing all coaches have in common regardless if you openly chew players out or not and that is you either do the job of they will find someone else to do it.

it's garrett who is the problem....we will see how it goes.....
our D is not the problem......

We're 3rd in yards gained on offense

We're 20th in yards allowed on defense.

But the offense is a problem and the defense is not. Okay.

I'm in the mud pushing this wagon. This team has figured out how to lead themselves with the help of some decent coaches and emerging team leaders like Brookings despite Wade's lack of leadership. The good thing about Wade is that he is not a prima donna by any stretch of the imagination so I don't see him interfering with the progress that the players have made without his help. We did it once before under Switzer, albeit with significantly more talent and depth, maybe lightening can strike twice.
