Good points.

The dead that were hacked up looked like they had roman numerals carved in the foreheads or maybe that was just me.
The houses looked like they had been hit with molotov cocktails or maybe even artillery of a sort.

Tyree was kind of a boring guy in many ways. He was the gentle giant. He had the body to be a massive zombie slayer and killer but in the end he was all jane instead of tarzan and it just did not work out well. Frankly he had more lines and scenes than TDog but they seemed to garner the same amount of Meh from me for the most part. Plus I think Abraham coming in may have pushed out Tyree. Abraham is now the bulldozer so to speak. He was assertive and agressive but now we will have to see how his character will go on with him having no true mission...will he turn into a bundle of confusion like tyree or will he shake it off, rub some dirt on it and turn back into hard charging Abraham again.

I will like how they set it up to make you think they were burying Beth at the beginning only to end it with them actually burying Tyree.

Yeah, that was indeed a pretty good twist. It has been a while between episodes, but back-to-back episodes with two character deaths was a pretty good call imo because I don't think too many people anticipated it. They didn't get a chance to fully absorb Beth before another gut punch was thrown.

*SPOILERS*

I really enjoyed the episode. It was a good way to kick off the second half of the season.

The show was a little weird with the talking dead people and all but I was into it. It made sense with what Ty was going through. I hated that they killed him off. I was actually in shock when it happened. My son and I both were. We kept saying "Where the hell did he have to go to find Rick? Get them there and cut his damn arm off!!!"

A couple of other things that I believe are foreshadowed from this show. They actually go hand in hand and answers my thoughts on for sure which one of the main cast that I do believe is going to die at the end of this season.

It's obvious that the people there weren't over-run by Zombies and killed. People killed them and then dismembered their zombie bodies, and other ones as well.

There are a couple of things that I think give dead on hints as to who lead the group that killed these people. I believe Glenn finding the wood baseball bat, and the handful of zombies that they showed had caved in heads lead you right to who they're foreshadowing.

For the record the bashed in skulls would have had to happen prior to death which was another reason I believed they were foreshadowing someone (group) doing this to them.

I believe they laid you down the initial hints toward the arrival of Negan. Who everyone whose a fan of the comic knows swings a baseball bat and would be the next big bad guy in their world.

I also believe the season will end with Negan killing Glenn. As in the comic by bashing his skull in.

Do you think there is any chance Negan could take down Rick, Carl, or Daryl? I would like them not to be seen as "untouchable"

Rick seems like the only true untouchable from the comics...maybe carl as well.

Daryl was never in the comics but has grown to be such a fan favorite and staple that I don't know if they would kill him off.

Interesting thing is that rick lost his hand early on in the comics but did not on here and when I seen they were going to cut off Tyree's arm I thought that they might do that to correct the comic/series thing.
The reason I said that is because in the books it was not bob that lost his foot to the cannibals...it was dale and they changed it from the comic to the series.

However in the comic books they also lose the baby so who knows. I would think that they would get rid of the baby or one of the other characters before they would rick or carl.

Rick and Carl are the main reason for the story IMO. I think the day they kill both of them off is the day they decide to end the series but that is just me.

No.

Well no to Rick and Carl. Those aren't going to happen until the show is essentially ending.

Darryl I think that could happen, at some point, just for the shock value but I don't see that time being this season.

Excellent post.

I agree with everything you've got here.

Any guesses on which characters on TWD "meet their maker" in the last 8 episodes?

We've been around the show long enough to know there will be some folks that won't make it to season 6.

Here are the ones I think make it to season 6:

-Rick (they can't kill him off because it's his story)
-Carl (Rick has taken so many body-blows I can't see this happening now)
-Judith (No, can't see this one happening now either)
-Maggie & Glenn (At some point maybe, but not before the start of next season)
-Daryl & Carroll (May be more important to the show than Rick... at least right now)
-Michonne (No, the writers won't kill her off)

I think everyone else is fair game.

If you have read the comics you know which main characters make it past this point, but to keep pacing they have disposable characters and they switched some characters around, Daryl maybe a main but he is disposable.

In the comics Tyrese had the herschell role in the Governor War, Herschell died in dale's place, Dale dies by the cannibals, Carol dies instead of her daughter, which is kind of major, Andrea survives. So they deviate from the comics a good bit.

Daryl is one character that can die he was never in the comics so they can write him out any time. Right now leading upto DC and beyond Preacher is definitely dead, maybe carol, maybe Daryl, Abraham dies int he comics after arrival in DC same with Glenn, Rick starts a relationship with Andrea in the Comics in DC but she is gone the only candidate is either a new character or that Chic that was with the governor during the Prison attack. Its all speculation because right still has his hand, but there are some good characters coming up with the DC storyline.

I had read somewhere that Kirkman wished he had a redo on Rick losing his hand in the comic.

I could see two different endings for the show... the passing of Rick and an incredibly pessimistic view of the possible survival of mankind with surviving humans eventually wiped out and the walking dead decomposing to the point of no longer being a threat... the planet becomes empty for many life forms OR the reason behind the event is found and the "agent" that causes the dead to walk is turned off so the living no longer have to fear coming back after dying, and with the gradual "wearing out" of the zombie horde, man has a chance to survive.

Grr. Just watched the episode.

My two favorite characters gone back to back. Oh snap. Well, Michonne is my other favorite. But still. I'm pissed.

I read in another forum how several TWD fans thought the Tyreese-character was compromised a great deal in the TV show, from what he was in the graphic novel due to the Daryl-character. Where in the comic Tyreese was Rick's right-hand man, in the TV show, he was basically a big wuss who never really interacted much with Rick– other than in the aftermath of the killing and burning of Karen.

I will say I don't think the TV character was developed as deeply as they could have. Many felt very bad about his character dying, but to me the only reason it had much of a meaning was the apparition part of it. Other than that, I thought Beth's passing was much more impactful.

One other thing, the scene with Tyreese in the car and he finds himself riding with those that had previously past, it reminded me of the excellent "Sopranos" episode where Tony finds himself riding in a Caddy with those that had died.

maybe. but if daryl goes, he will take a lot of fans with him. i get that we get to know these characters and dying is a fact of live in this world. i get that. but to spend so much time and effort to develop a character than throw away the death? i'm sure people disagree with me but beths death was a throw away. then to turn around and kill another? geez, the dude went outside to protect the baby and with his bare hands kills what, a dozen zombies?

yet some punk kid locked in a room somehow gets out and bites him in the arm.

ok, i'll still go with it cause the entire episode was just bizarre and like a 60s mushroom trip, or so i'm told. but it did in some fashion make a connection between living and dying and that was something worth telling.

it's getting to the point where the writers can't write a story anymore, just action scenes and killing off characters.

Yeah I could see those as two potential endings to the show. When the time comes I will be very interested in what direction they go with to end the show off.
