The way Romo handled Dez was incredible

The VAST majority of the blame for the past thirty plus years of mediocrity to respectability and NO MORE belongs with the Jones boys.

lol..facts have no place in this argument....because if thats true then i cant argue who was better despite what history tells us really happened and how similar they are..lol.."You either like my guy better or your an idoit!" its the zone way...

I agree with your assessment. It is a shame we never won w Romo, but I feel exactly the same way about Dak. Dak’s rookie season going 13-3 only to watch the defense collapse on 4th and 25 was a gut punch.
Did you watch the first half of that game?

And did you see that same awful Packers team get curb-stomped the next week by a real team?

its been a while since we had a "Who lost better" Romo/Dak thread been like 5 days im guessing.

I don't think we ever saw the best from Dez. JG kept him glued to the sideline running nine routes, whereas a smart OC would have gave him some quick hitters inside where he could take one step and go.
He couldn't be trusted with read routes, so Romo would communicate with him at the line to make those changes.

Dak couldn't do that nor could he throw high-point and back shoulder accurately, so Dezc became fairly useless.

Dez became useless after his Achilles blew out. His game was built on top-end explosion and he got sapped of that.

it is interesting how Romo was able to get the best out of both Dez and TO

but then certain morons claim he had no leadership skills
but then they are the same guys all over Daks supposed leadership skills
You can possibly make a case for Dez (although he balled out his rookie season with Jon Kitna) but to say he got the best out of TO you’d have to be on drugs.

Side note: I love how folks just glance over the fact that Dez literally energized the entire team and single handed brought us back in that 2016 playoff game.

Yes to both questions. I don’t ever miss a Cowboys game. We haven’t been a serious contender for decades but there have been a few “fools gold” seasons where I thought we might finally win a div round playoff game.

I’ve proven my point multiple times. By 2021 Zeke was pretty much done and Dak still won 12 games. We destroyed Tom Brady and the Bucs on the road in the playoffs and Zeke only rushed for 27 yards. That was the Cowboys first road playoff win in 30 years. Dak won 12 games in 2023 without Zeke. We haven’t had a great running game in years and Dak led the Cowboys to the playoffs three straight years with 12 win seasons. The Cowboys hadn’t done that since their championship years in the 90s. I keep proving my point that the Romo years weren’t any better than the Dak years. Those fans who keep spinning we had it better with Romo are being ridiculous.
lol..

You have moved on to a scrub Tampa team with a washed Tom Brady with 1 foot out the door and couldn’t even get past half-field against our defense, meaning you’ve gone from a 2016 team to 2020 team, meaning completely irrelevant point to the 2007 squad.

I’m pretty sure Tony Romo with that 2020 team and top turnover-ranked defense would have no problems beating Tampa Bay and that scrub squad and further not choke against that SF team..

Should be 2022 and 8-9 TB at that…

You claim Brady was a scrub his final season? He passed for almost 4700 yards with 25 TDs. He completed almost 67% of his passes and his passer rating was 90.7. You call those scrub numbers? lol You wouldn’t be spinning any of that BS had Romo been our QB…FACT! That Bucs team only won ONE fewer game than that Green Bay team that blew our doors off the following year at home in the playoffs. Go waste someone else’s time.

Brady passed for 351 yards with 2 TDs against the Cowboys. So much for him not being able to get past mid field.

Brady did jack squat against the defense. Had like 1 drive before the first score to end the third quarter 24-6 where he even crossed mid-field..

No, I said washed Tom Brady.. I said scrub TB team.. 8-9 and won the division.. they were horrible..

But again, completely irrelevant to your original point, regarding the 2007 versus 2016 team..

thanks for playing..

He passed 351 yards and 2 TDs and you’re claiming he did squat against our defense. lol Like I said you wouldn’t be saying that had Romo been our QB. Even the most lost fans can see your agenda. The only thing our defense did well in that game was keep the Bucs from scoring a lot of points. We bent but didn’t break. The reason we blew the Bucs out was because Dak had a career game with over 300 yards and 4 TDs. Romo never had a playoff game that good. That was our first road playoff win in 30 years and our first win over Brady who was 7-0 against the Cowboys but keep downplaying it because you hate Dak.

A washed player has pretty much been reduced to a scrub. Brady was far from washed and his numbers that season prove it. The 49ers tried luring him out of retirement for one season. Records don’t matter in the playoffs and if you were an astute NFL fan you would know that. This past postseason we saw teams beat teams with much better regular season records. Keep downplaying the win over the Bucs because Dak was our QB. Fans like you are a waste of time. Your agenda is a silly game and I’m done playing.

Your anecdotal evidence doesn’t cut it…

if what you say is true, those 13 pro-bowlers should have been all-pro.

Fans vote pro-bowl and do it multiple times if they want. Marion Barber didn’t even start and he was a pro-bowler.

Bradie James as a pro-bowler wasn’t anywhere in the same planet as first team all-pro Sean Lee in 2016.
And back then they voted midseason.
Dallas was all the rage early that year and everyone with a pulse was getting voted for.

That was one of the worst teams that Dallas has ever lost to at HOME in the playoffs.
Like you said, they showed who they were the very next week
