3. The RB2 battle is more clear than some may think​

After Ronald Jones' suspension, it was clear this race was down to two players: Rico Dowdle and Malik Davis. Both seem capable of taking significant touches if necessary, and both have had flashes in the past. Now, it is still a two-player race, but now between Dowdle and rookie RB Deuce Vaughn.

There are two clear starters on each side of the defensive line for the Cowboys, that being Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence. But who's next up? That is a battle between Dante Fowler Jr. and Sam Williams, both who had their good moments last season.

1. Jake Ferguson is your new TE1​

There will be a lot of production missed now that Dalton Schultz is gone. Whether fans liked him or not, he was very consistent and clearly one of Dak Prescott's favorite targets. That now leaves a very interesting battle for his share of the offense, a battle between two sophomores and a rookie.

Jake Ferguson came into camp as the favorite to end up with the starting job, and he has clearly run away with it. Peyton Hendershot has been fine, but it doesn't seem he's had the same consistency as Ferguson. Second-round pick Luke Schoonmaker was the next favorite to become the starter, but a lingering injury has kept him from really getting a fair shot, so by default, he will have to be brought on a little slower. Even if he had been healthy, it would've been hard to believe he could've played as well as Ferguson has so far. He's played so well, the team didn't even need to see him against the Seahawks and are seemingly allowing him to rest until the season starts. We may see him for a drive or two next week, but he clearly has the starting job sealed up.

@CCBoy, Sam Williams was arrested Sunday on multiple charges so I doubt he'll be getting more snaps until that's cleared up. Jerry says he's maturing though.
