Hurricane felicia is headed directly for the Hawaiian Isles and should arrive sometime tomorrow. It is expected to dissipate to either tropical storm or tropical depression status by the time it reaches us, but that's just a prediction. Even then, the NWS is predicting sustained winds of 50 mph+ and gusts even higher with rainfall of about 12 inches; and even more in normally wet areas (hello Papaikou!).

I'm hoping there won't be too much damage, but I fully expect to lose my electricity and, thus, internet access for a while.

I wish the best of luck to Paniolo, Windward and all my other fellow Cowboys fans in Hawaii; as well as all other Hawaii residents.

I've taken direct hits from 'Rita' and 'Ike' in the last 5 years, so I know what you're going through. Just batten down the hatches, stay low during the worst of it and we'll see ya on the other side.

Hammer :shake:

Thanks Leon, just watching the news - looks like it's dying down a bit, but we are still gonna get wet. Oh well, we should all be ready for anything I guess. Everybody here in the Hawaiian Islands - take care and be safe...

Me too, where you from?

It looks like it won't be as bad as originally thought, but stay safe anyway, guys.

Nothin' gonna' happen. We wouldn't be that lucky.

When Hurricane Iniki hit Kauai, we cleaned up. Nothing like a good natural disaster to spike the economy. I don't want anyone hurt or dead, but every time a good storm is supposed to hit us, we get left at the alter.

Every year, we're supposed to get a good *** kickin', and every year it comes and goes. Everyone goes to Costco and loads up on batteries, water and paper towels, and nothing comes of it. One of these years, we'll get lucky and the Kona Coast will get wiped out. Then, we'll make a million.

We had an Earthquake 'round these parts a few years ago. THAT was good for business. All we need is a good Level 5 Hurricane or two, and that would be good medicine for this construction economy.

One of these years, we'll get luck and have an entire Hawaiian Resort coast totally destroyed. Then, we could all get back to work and maybe retire...............
