That was an amazing game by our boys. I was on the edge of my seat the entire match waiting for any one of those shots to find the net. It was almost as good as our comeback win (that wasn't) against Slovenia yet better because we actually won.

I hate soccer but have to admit that was a pretty exciting game. Frustrating that the US didnt capitalize on early opportunities except the one not allowed. Go USA!

Defoe grabbed a nice chunk of Slovenian jersey to get an advantage, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.

This Ghana match should be a great game. Ghana knocked the USA out of the World Cup in 2006 by beating us in the final group match 2-1. Hopefully Donovan, Dempsey and the rest of the vets from '06 will remember that game and get some revenge.


If we beat Ghana we will face the winner of South Korea/Uruguay. We played South Korea to a draw in the 2002 World Cup group stage (where they finished 4th after beating Spain and Italy). We last played Uruguay in a 2002 pre-WC friendly that we won 2-1.


Our team has a great shot at making it through to the semis where we would face Brazil, Netherlands, or possibly Spain or Italy. We just have to play to our potential and not allow those early goals.
